UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has concluded a multi-day state visit to Germany, departing from Munich after engaging in significant discussions aimed at enhancing bilateral relations. During the visit, Sheikh Mohamed met with German leaders to explore opportunities for cooperation across various sectors, underscoring the strengthening strategic partnership between the two nations, as reported by WAM.
The discussions primarily focused on expanding trade and investment ties. Both countries welcomed the establishment of a German-UAE Investment Council, which is designed to foster closer collaboration between public and private sectors. This initiative is expected to facilitate increased economic interaction and investment opportunities.
Additionally, the outcomes of the UAE-Germany Business Forum and the resumption of the Joint Economic Committee were highlighted as key developments during the visit. Notably, 29 memoranda of understanding and commercial agreements were signed between UAE and German companies, amounting to over 9.35 billion euros.
A significant highlight of the visit was the announcement of a substantial UAE investment package worth 40 billion euros in Germany. This investment reflects the UAE’s commitment to bolstering its economic ties with Germany and enhancing its presence in the European market.
Moreover, both nations expressed their support for a comprehensive free trade agreement between the UAE and the European Union, which they believe would yield economic benefits for both sides. The visit reaffirmed the shared commitment of the UAE and Germany to economic prosperity, innovation, future technologies, sustainable development, and regional peace and security.
As the UAE continues to strengthen its international partnerships, this visit marks a significant step in enhancing bilateral relations with Germany, paving the way for future cooperation and mutual growth.
