The UAE National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has announced a forecast of above-average rainfall for the month of October, with significant precipitation expected throughout this week. The NCM’s report indicates that the country is experiencing an average of 5.2mm of rainfall, with convective clouds likely to form in northern and eastern regions, particularly in Fujairah and Kalba.
Rainfall Patterns and Weather Conditions
As the week progresses, the NCM predicts that rain will become a dominant feature across the UAE. Initially, fair to partly cloudy weather is expected, but conditions will shift to include rainfall, particularly in the northern and eastern emirates. This forecast aligns with the NCM’s October summary, which highlights the anticipated weather patterns for the month.
Temperature Trends
In addition to the rainfall, temperatures are expected to gradually decline. Today, Ras Al Khaimah is forecasted to reach a high of 37°C, while Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Ajman, and Umm Al Quwain will peak at 36°C. Sharjah is expected to see a maximum of 35°C, and Fujairah will remain the coolest emirate with a high of 34°C. Nighttime humidity levels are projected to rise, particularly in urban areas like Dubai and Abu Dhabi, where relative humidity could reach 85% and 80%, respectively, leading to potential fog in the early morning hours.
Sea Conditions and Safety Advisories
For those planning to visit the beach, the NCM advises caution due to moderate sea conditions along the western coastline. Wave heights are expected to reach up to two feet onshore and five feet offshore in the Arabian Gulf, while the Sea of Oman will see gentle waves rising to two feet onshore and three feet offshore. Residents are encouraged to stay informed about weather updates and exercise caution when engaging in outdoor activities.
As the UAE experiences these weather changes, residents can look forward to the refreshing scent of rain and cooler temperatures, marking a shift in the seasonal climate.
