Dubai Residential aims for one billion steps in Dubai Fitness Challenge 2023

Published:

Dubai Residential has set an ambitious goal of achieving one billion steps across its 21 communities as part of the Dubai Fitness Challenge (DFC) 2023. This initiative, launched in collaboration with the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism and the Dubai Sports Council, aims to engage over 146,000 residents in a collective fitness effort from October 31 to November 29.

Participants can track their daily steps using the fitze app, contributing to the overall target while promoting a healthier lifestyle. Ahmad Al Suwaidi, Managing Director of Dubai Residential, emphasized the importance of encouraging residents to incorporate more movement into their daily routines. “By supporting healthier, more active lifestyles, we are turning their collective participation into progress towards our one billion-step goal,” he stated.

Community Engagement and Fitness Events

Throughout the challenge, Dubai Residential will host various fitness events in selected communities, including Layan, Shorooq, Ghoroob, and The Gardens. Activities will feature yoga, Zumba, high-intensity interval training (HIIT), sports challenges, and family-friendly events, fostering a sense of community and shared purpose among residents.

Yaqoub Al Zarouni, Senior Manager of Dubai Fitness Challenge, expressed enthusiasm for the initiative, noting that it highlights the power of collective participation. “Bringing residents across 21 communities together behind an ambitious one billion-step goal demonstrates the role communities can play in building a more active Dubai,” he said.

Incentives and Rewards

To further motivate participants, Dubai Residential has announced a rewards program totaling over AED 30,000 in Dubai Retail gift cards. The top three participants will receive AED 5,000, AED 3,000, and AED 2,000, respectively, while each community’s highest performer will earn AED 1,000. Additionally, participants can compete for a share of AED 1 million in rewards through the fitze app, which includes opportunities for international trips, staycations, dining experiences, and shopping vouchers.

This initiative not only aims to promote physical activity but also aligns with Dubai’s vision of becoming one of the world’s most active cities. As the challenge unfolds, residents are encouraged to step up and contribute to this collective goal, making strides towards a healthier future.
