A New Collaboration

Samsung Gulf Electronics is set to enrich Dubai’s cultural landscape through a strategic partnership with the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority. This initiative will be showcased at the Sikka Art & Design Festival 2026, which proudly operates under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture.

Festival Highlights

The 14th edition of the Sikka Art & Design Festival will occur from January 23 to February 1, 2026, in the picturesque Al Shindagha Historic Neighborhood. This year’s festival promises to transform the area into a lively open-air gallery that spotlights emerging artists from both the UAE and the wider region. Visitors can anticipate a diverse cultural experience featuring free access to live performances, workshops, and engaging talks suitable for all ages.

The Art & Tech House Experience

One of the standout features of this festival is Samsung’s Art & Tech House. This interactive space invites attendees to delve into how modern technology can enhance artistic expression and influence everyday life. At the heart of the exhibition is “Encounters,” an insightful showcase that explores the complex relationship between art, technology, and human perception. Through immersive installations that challenge traditional views, this exhibition aims to highlight how digital tools are reshaping concepts of creativity and authorship in contemporary culture.

Insights from Samsung

Shafi Alam, Senior Director and Head of the Direct-to-Consumer & Corporate Marketing Division at Samsung Gulf Electronics, emphasizes the importance of this collaboration by stating, “We are proud to partner with Dubai Culture at Sikka Art & Design Festival to bring the Art & Tech House to life as a space where creativity and technology meet.” He further notes, “At Samsung Gulf, we believe technology should be captivating and engaging.” With tools like Galaxy AI and Vision AI, Samsung’s advanced AI products such as The Frame Pro and Galaxy Tab are designed to serve as creative canvases, seamlessly integrating technology into daily life while fostering valuable cultural experiences.

Showcasing Creative Talent

The Art & Tech House will present digital artworks from over ten talented artists, both local and international. Among these creators are Abdul Shakir, Ameera Kawash, and Dalia Omran, among others. Curated by Esra Ozkan, their collective works examine the blend of heritage, innovation, and the future of artistic practices.

Spotlighting Display Technologies

Festival attendees will have the unique chance to experience Samsung’s cutting-edge display technology, with The Frame Pro taking center stage. Not only does this product emulate a piece of art when not in use, but it also serves as a digital canvas that seamlessly combines museum-quality visuals with sophisticated design elements. This innovation demonstrates how technology can elevate art within everyday surroundings.

Interactive Engagements

The showcase at the festival will feature a range of digital canvases and interactive installations, highlighting how screens can become vital creative tools, connecting audiences with art in new and engaging ways.

In addition to art exhibitions, Samsung is hosting a curated Photo Walk. Participants can explore the Al Shindagha Historic Neighborhood through a creative lens, guided by experienced photographers and artists, enhancing their cultural understanding of the locale.

A Dynamic Cultural Agenda

Throughout the festival, visitors are invited to partake in an array of exhibitions, workshops, and panel discussions that delve into the intersection of artificial intelligence and creativity. Daily engagements and artist spotlights are designed to inspire the public to learn, create, and connect in meaningful ways.

As the Sikka Art & Design Festival approaches, it promises to be a beacon of creativity, showcasing how technology and art can coexist and mutually enrich the cultural fabric of our society.
