Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) has launched a new travel booking feature within its mobile app, developed in partnership with Unravel, a video commerce platform for travel and lifestyle. This innovative service allows QIB cardholders to discover and book from over 3.5 million hotels worldwide, enhancing the customer experience with exclusive member rates and 24/7 customer support.
The integration of this travel feature marks a significant advancement in QIB’s digital offerings, making it the first bank in Qatar to provide such a comprehensive travel platform directly through its mobile application. Cardholders can now explore hotels via immersive video content, receive personalized travel recommendations, and complete bookings seamlessly without leaving the app.
Enhanced Customer Experience
QIB’s new service aims to cater to the evolving needs of its customers by combining travel discovery with banking convenience. The platform includes tailored travel filters to assist users in planning family leisure trips, thereby enhancing the overall user experience. D Anand, QIB’s General Manager of the Personal Banking Group, emphasized the bank’s commitment to expanding its mobile app capabilities to meet customer demands. He stated, “Our partnership with Unravel allows us to offer QIB cardholders exclusive hotel rates and a convenient way to discover, plan and book their travel.”
Unravel’s Innovative Approach
Unravel’s platform utilizes short-form video content and AI-driven planning tools to create a more engaging travel booking experience. Vijay Anand, founder and CEO of Unravel, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, noting that it brings a unique travel experience to Qatar for the first time. He highlighted the combination of immersive video discovery and a vast selection of accommodations as a way to facilitate a smoother transition from travel inspiration to booking.
With this new feature, QIB cardholders will have access to a wide array of properties across more than 190 countries, along with dedicated support throughout their travel journey. This initiative not only enhances QIB’s service offerings but also positions the bank as a leader in digital banking innovation within the region.
