FlyDubai, the Dubai-based airline, has announced a significant partnership with Accelya, a leader in airline technology solutions, to modernize its distribution channels. This collaboration focuses on implementing Accelya’s New Distribution Capability (NDC) as part of the innovative FLX ONE platform, aiming to streamline FlyDubai’s indirect channel distribution and align it more closely with its direct sales efforts.

The agreement marks a pivotal moment in FlyDubai’s ongoing digital transformation journey. By integrating Accelya’s NDC solution, the airline is set to enhance its offerings with richer content and dynamic pricing options. This move is designed to provide greater personalization for both trade partners and customers, ensuring a more tailored travel experience.

Insights from FlyDubai Leadership

Ramesh Anantharaman, Divisional Senior Vice President of Revenue Management and Business Effectiveness at FlyDubai, expressed enthusiasm about the new agreement. He stated, “We are pleased to expand our partnership with Accelya through the adoption of their NDC solution. This underscores our ongoing commitment to leveraging the latest technologies and enhancing the overall customer experience.”

Anantharaman emphasized that the new agreement will allow FlyDubai to distribute its full range of products more effectively, introduce new services at a faster pace, and manage its channels with increased agility. This is a crucial step in FlyDubai’s retail transformation strategy.

Expanding Global Reach

FlyDubai has established a robust network, connecting over 135 destinations across 57 countries, including regions in Africa, Central Asia, the Caucasus, Europe, the GCC, the Middle East, South Asia, and Southeast Asia. This extensive reach positions FlyDubai as a significant player in the global airline market, and the partnership with Accelya is expected to further enhance its competitive edge.

Accelya’s Role in NDC Implementation

Accelya stands out as a global leader in NDC implementation, managing over 50% of NDC volumes worldwide through its FLX ONE platform. This cloud-native technology allows airlines to modernize their operations without being tied to legacy systems, offering a flexible and modular approach to achieving full Offers and Orders transformation.

Andrew Wilcock, Chief Revenue Officer at Accelya, commented on the partnership, stating, “FlyDubai joins a growing set of airlines choosing Accelya to lead their NDC and retailing transformation.
