Dubai Municipality has successfully completed over 107 projects valued at approximately $440 million in 2026, marking a significant milestone in the enhancement of the emirate’s public and community spaces. This achievement underscores the municipality’s commitment to improving the quality of life for residents and visitors alike.

These projects, delivered through the Public Facilities Agency, encompass a wide range of developments, including public parks, beaches, and neighborhood beautification initiatives. The integrated development program aims to expand Dubai’s public destinations while enhancing the overall urban experience.

Bader Anwahi, CEO of the Public Facilities Agency, emphasized the importance of public infrastructure, stating, “The value of public infrastructure is measured by what we build, as well as by how it improves people’s everyday lives and contributes to the city’s long-term development.” This approach reflects a commitment to understanding community needs and ensuring that public spaces serve efficiently and sustainably over time.

Focus on Community and Accessibility

The scale of these projects highlights the agency’s expanding role in shaping Dubai’s urban landscape. By integrating infrastructure development with a focus on quality and accessibility, the Public Facilities Agency aims to ensure that public investments generate value throughout their lifecycle. A significant portion of the completed projects is dedicated to creating new community destinations and upgrading existing public spaces to meet the evolving needs of Dubai’s population.

The 2026 portfolio includes developments across various public destinations, such as Al Mamzar Beaches, schools, social neighborhood Majlis, and new parks in both urban and rural areas. Notably, 36% of the total project investment was allocated to public beach developments, while 22% focused on city beautification and landscaping projects.

Enhancing Urban Life

These investments contribute to creating visually appealing, greener, and more people-centric public spaces, significantly enhancing the overall quality of life for residents. By extending access to recreational and community spaces, Dubai Municipality fosters opportunities for outdoor activities and social interaction, enriching the city’s community life.

As Dubai continues to grow, the municipality’s proactive approach to urban development will play a crucial role in shaping a vibrant and sustainable environment for all its inhabitants. For further details on the municipality’s initiatives, refer to ME Construction News.
