Americold Unveils Cutting-Edge Cold Storage Facility in Dubai, Revolutionizing Food Supply Chain in the Middle East
Americold, a global powerhouse in temperature-controlled logistics and real estate, has announced the grand opening of its newest, state-of-the-art cold storage facility in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. This milestone, achieved through a joint venture with RSA Cold Chain and a strategic partnership with DP World, marks Americold’s largest operational site in the Middle East, geared towards optimizing food distribution flows across the region.
Strategically nestled in the Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA), the facility boasts an impressive capacity with 40,000 pallet positions and multi-temperature capabilities tailored to diverse storage needs. It offers both bonded and non-bonded storage options, making it a critical import-export hub connecting global food producers to the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) markets primarily via efficient sea freight operations. This logistical excellence is further enhanced by DP World’s superior infrastructure and dedicated road access to mainland UAE, comprising 27 docks, smart monitoring systems, and an eco-friendly design featuring rooftop solar panels aimed at maximizing energy efficiency.

Serving a broad spectrum of customers—including quick service restaurants (QSRs), grocery retailers, and quick commerce platforms—the facility’s services extend beyond basic storage. It supports piece, case, and pallet-level handling, along with co-packaging, inventory cycling, and customs-compliant break-bulk consolidation. The facility also upholds the highest international food safety standards, earning certifications such as ISO 22000 and HACCP, which guarantee stringent hazard control and comprehensive traceability throughout all operations.

This launch builds on Americold’s earlier strategic investment in RSA Cold Chain in February 2023 and strengthens its global partnership with DP World, forged in November 2022.
