ADGM concludes largest Global Media Forum, connecting 33 international media representatives

The Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) has successfully concluded its largest Global Media Forum to date, which took place from October 20 to 22, 2023. The event brought together 33 media representatives, including 13 international journalists, to explore Abu Dhabi’s evolving role in global finance, investment, and innovation.

Held under the theme “Inside Abu Dhabi: Capital, Partnerships, Opportunity,” the forum provided a platform for international media to engage directly with senior executives and institutions within Abu Dhabi’s financial ecosystem. Participants hailed from diverse markets, including the U.K., U.S., France, Germany, India, South Africa, South Korea, and China, reflecting the emirate’s growing international appeal.

Connecting Media with Abu Dhabi’s Economic Landscape

The forum aimed to highlight Abu Dhabi’s economic transformation and investment opportunities while fostering international partnerships. ADGM emphasized that the event builds on previous editions to strengthen media relations and stakeholder engagement, offering global audiences insights into the emirate’s economic development.

Mohammed Al Mheiri, Chief Communications Officer at ADGM, noted that the forum supports Abu Dhabi’s vision as a global financial hub. He stated, “The Global Media Forum supports that objective by giving international media closer access to Abu Dhabi’s economic ecosystem.” This initiative aims to enhance understanding of the capital flows and partnerships that influence both regional and global economies.

Insights from Key Financial Institutions

The first day of the forum featured briefings from various ADGM authorities, including the Registration Authority and the Financial Services Regulatory Authority. Participants received an overview of ADGM’s regulatory frameworks and market development initiatives, which are crucial for attracting international business and investment.

Additionally, the agenda included a dedicated session on the upcoming Abu Dhabi Finance Week, scheduled for December 2026, which aims to facilitate international financial dialogue and collaboration. The forum also featured discussions with representatives from global financial organizations such as BlackRock Investment Institute and Bitcoin Suisse, focusing on Abu Dhabi’s attractiveness to international capital.

Exploring Investment Opportunities

The second day expanded discussions to encompass Abu Dhabi’s broader economic landscape. Panels addressed topics such as economic diversification and the emirate’s digital economy, featuring insights from major players like Aldar and Lunate. These sessions provided journalists with a comprehensive view of the institutions and initiatives driving Abu Dhabi’s growth.

Participants also visited the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX), gaining insights into the emirate’s capital markets and financial infrastructure. This visit complemented the forum’s focus on policy and investment discussions, showcasing the support systems in place for capital formation and securities markets.

Celebrating 11 Years of ADGM

The forum concluded with a celebration marking ADGM’s 11th anniversary, highlighting its development alongside Abu Dhabi’s economic transformation. The event underscored ADGM’s role as a connector of international markets and investment opportunities, further solidifying its position as a leading financial center.

As ADGM continues to expand its jurisdiction and enhance its financial district, the Global Media Forum serves as a vital platform for fostering international relationships and showcasing Abu Dhabi’s dynamic economic landscape. For more details, refer to Economy Middle East.
