Dubai is hosting the 28th edition of the Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX), featuring 3,000 exhibitors from 60 countries. The event, inaugurated by His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, is taking place at the Dubai World Trade Centre and aims to showcase innovations in sustainability and energy.
Organised by the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), WETEX spans 85,000 square metres and includes 13 international pavilions along with 60 local and international sponsors. Sheikh Ahmed emphasized that the exhibition reinforces Dubai’s status as a global hub for investment and innovation, facilitating strategic partnerships and the adoption of advanced technologies.
During the exhibition, Sheikh Ahmed reviewed various technologies and solutions focused on clean and renewable energy, water conservation, sustainability, artificial intelligence, digital transformation, and decarbonisation. The event serves as a platform for businesses, investors, and decision-makers to explore opportunities and the latest solutions in the energy, water, and environmental sectors.
In addition to the exhibition, DEWA is hosting seminars and panel discussions featuring experts on topics such as renewable energy, sustainability, and future technologies. Notably, the 12th World Green Economy Summit (WGES) will also take place on October 21 and 22, under the theme ‘From Success to Scale: Showcasing the Green Economy’, co-organised by the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, DEWA, and the World Green Economy Organization.
As the event unfolds, it highlights Dubai’s commitment to fostering innovation and sustainability, aligning with global efforts to address environmental challenges and promote green technologies. According to the Dubai Media Office, WETEX is a significant step towards achieving these goals.
