Arabian Travel Market 2026 concludes with major announcements; 2027 edition set for May 3-6 in Dubai

The Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2026 concluded with significant announcements and partnerships, reinforcing Dubai’s status as a global travel hub. The event, held at the Dubai World Trade Centre from September 14 to 17, attracted key players from the international travel and tourism sector, including representatives from the UAE, India, Saudi Arabia, and several other countries. The 33rd edition featured over 55 destination stands and showcased a diverse range of industry stakeholders, including airlines, hospitality brands, and technology firms, as reported by Economy Middle East.

Strengthening Dubai’s Global Position

His Excellency Issam Kazim, CEO of the Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing, highlighted the event’s role in fostering partnerships and sharing insights among global stakeholders. He noted that the strong participation from both local and international entities underscores Dubai’s appeal as a safe and accessible destination.

Launch of Visit UAE and New Initiatives

ATM 2026 served as a platform for the launch of Visit UAE, the country’s first unified national tourism brand aimed at promoting the UAE as a cohesive travel destination. Additionally, the UAE Grand Tour was introduced, offering visitors a continuous travel route through all seven emirates.

Key Agreements in Aviation

During the event, Emirates Airlines signed 11 memoranda of understanding, enhancing connections with various regional and global destinations. Similarly, Etihad Airways and Etihad Rail announced a collaboration to create a seamless air-rail travel experience, aiming to simplify travel across the UAE.

New Developments in Saudi Arabia

In Saudi Arabia, Rotana revealed plans for 40 new hotels, with ten projects specifically targeting the Saudi market. Furthermore, a consortium including Air Arabia Group announced the launch of a new airline set to operate from September 20, 2026, connecting Dammam with major cities like Riyadh and Jeddah.

Technological Innovations Showcased

ATM 2026 also featured advancements in travel technology, including the introduction of AI-powered booking experiences by Mastercard and Trip.com. The event saw a doubling of floorspace dedicated to technology, reflecting the growing importance of digital solutions in the travel sector.

Looking Ahead to ATM 2027

Preparations for ATM 2027 are already underway, with the next edition scheduled for May 3-6, 2027. The theme for the upcoming event will focus on “Travel 2040: Driving New Frontiers Through Innovation and Technology,” exploring how emerging technologies are shaping the future of tourism.
