The “Al Fareej Fridge” campaign, supported by the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives foundation and in collaboration with Suqia UAE and the UAE Food Bank, has successfully distributed 2 million bottles of cold water, juices, and ice creams to workers across Dubai. Launched on July 3, this initiative aims to mitigate health risks associated with high summer temperatures for cleaning and construction workers, delivery drivers, and landscaping personnel.

The campaign, which concluded its third cycle recently, saw participation from 15 entities that contributed to its goals. These organizations engaged their officials and employees in distributing refreshments to workers at various sites, resulting in 219 community participations across 54 locations in Dubai. Additionally, 50 volunteers played a crucial role in ensuring the campaign’s success through their daily efforts.

Ibrahim Al Balooshi, Director of the Sustainability and Partnerships Department at the Furjan Dubai foundation, highlighted the campaign’s achievements in both distribution volume and community engagement. He noted that the initiative reflects the humanitarian spirit of the Dubai community and underscores the commitment to supporting workers’ health and well-being.

Alia Al Shamlan, Director of the Furjan Dubai foundation, emphasized the campaign’s comprehensive approach, which included the use of qualified teams and refrigerated vehicles to ensure efficient access to workers at their sites. This flexibility was key to the campaign’s effectiveness.

Mohammed Abdulkareem Al Shamsi, Acting Executive Director of Suqia UAE, reiterated the foundation’s commitment to leveraging its resources to serve the community and support innovative ideas aimed at improving lives. He expressed pride in the collaborative efforts that made the campaign possible.

Manal Bin Yaarouf, Chairperson of the Executive Team of the UAE Food Bank, remarked that the bank’s involvement in the campaign demonstrates its dedication to humanitarian goals and support for the worker community, which is vital to Dubai’s prosperity. She noted that the integration of efforts among Furjan Dubai, campaign partners, and various entities was crucial to the success of this initiative.

Throughout its third cycle, the campaign utilized modern refrigerated vehicles to distribute refreshments, with volunteers significantly contributing to its objectives. The initiative not only provided relief to workers but also fostered a sense of community support during the challenging summer months.
