Riyadh Air Launches Nawat Cabin Crew Program to Strengthen Saudi Talent in Aviation

New Initiative Aims to Enhance Aviation Careers for Saudis

Riyadh Air has officially launched the Nawat Cabin Crew Program, a significant initiative aimed at fostering aviation careers for Saudi nationals. This program is part of the airline’s broader strategy to connect Saudi Arabia to over 100 global destinations by 2030. The Nawat initiative consolidates various pathways for Saudi talent to advance within the aviation sector, complementing existing programs such as the Aircraft Engineering Program and the Cadet Pilot Program.

The Nawat Cabin Crew Program is designed to provide an eight-month training journey, developed in collaboration with Bunyan for Training Academy in Riyadh. Applications for the program are currently open online, and a national roadshow will kick off in Riyadh to offer in-person support for prospective candidates.

Commitment to Local Talent Development

The initiative aims to recruit thousands of Saudis in the coming years as Riyadh Air expands its operations. The program is expected to equip the next generation of cabin crew with the necessary skills, confidence, and warmth to represent both Riyadh Air and the Kingdom on the international stage.

Nahar Aljahani, Senior Vice President of Talent Acquisition and Business Partners at Riyadh Air, emphasized the airline’s commitment to building a national talent pipeline in the aviation sector. He stated that cabin crew members are essential to the airline’s operations and that the Nawat Cabin Crew Program will play a vital role in developing the Kingdom’s aviation sector. This aligns with the goal of creating more than 200,000 direct and indirect job opportunities under Vision 2030.

Broadening Opportunities in Aviation

Nawat is part of Riyadh Air’s broader commitment to developing national capabilities under Vision 2030. The program is specifically designed to enable Saudi nationals to gain valuable experience in various aviation roles. Riyadh Air’s initiatives reflect a long-term investment in the Kingdom’s aviation industry, offering multiple pathways for Saudi talent to build careers.

These initiatives include the Kingdom’s first program to employ female Saudi engineers in aircraft maintenance and specialized bachelor’s scholarship programs for aircraft maintenance engineers in mechanical and avionics engineering. The Nawat Graduate Program prepares university graduates for employment within Riyadh Air’s corporate departments through intensive training rotations, while the airline’s first Cadet Pilot Program offers opportunities for aspiring Saudi pilots.

Structure and Curriculum of the Nawat Cabin Crew Program

Cabin crew members serve as critical frontline brand ambassadors for Riyadh Air, performing essential safety and service roles on board. They are tasked with spreading the spirit of Hafawa and showcasing the best of Riyadh and the Kingdom to the world. Applications for the Nawat Cabin Crew Program can be submitted in-person at roadshows across the Kingdom, starting with Riyadh, as well as online.

Developed in partnership with Bunyan for Training Company, the Nawat Cabin Crew Program features a comprehensive eight-month curriculum aligned with international aviation standards. The training encompasses technical expertise, safety procedures, language proficiency, and the art of professional service. The program is set to commence in August 2026, with successful candidates expected to join Riyadh Air as cabin crew in 2027.

Riyadh Air is inviting Saudi men and women aged 21 and older, who are passionate about hospitality and service, to apply. The Nawat Cabin Crew Program is an investment in local talent, supporting Vision 2030 and reinforcing Riyadh Air’s commitment to empowering Saudi talent in the aviation sector. This initiative offers candidates the chance to build a rewarding career and take pride in representing the Kingdom.
