UAE Intercepts 12 Ballistic Missiles and 123 Drones, Strengthening Defense

The United Arab Emirates’ defense forces successfully intercepted a total of 12 ballistic missiles and 123 drones on Tuesday. One ballistic missile did land within the country’s territory but fortunately did not result in any casualties.

Ongoing Threats and Responses

Since the onset of the Iranian offensive, a total of 186 ballistic missiles have been detected, with 171 intercepted, 13 have landed in the sea, and one impacted land within the UAE. In addition to ballistic missiles, 812 Iranian drones have been identified, with 755 successfully neutralized, while 57 fell on UAE territory. Eight cruise missiles were also recognized and destroyed, which caused some collateral damage.

The series of attacks has resulted in three fatalities among foreign nationals, including individuals from Pakistan, Nepal, and Bangladesh. Additionally, 68 others sustained injuries, comprising citizens and residents from various countries including the UAE, Egypt, Ethiopia, the Philippines, and several others.

Government Assurance and Condemnation

The UAE’s Ministry of Defense stated that the sounds heard throughout the country were associated with the ongoing interception efforts. The ministry confirmed that debris from these intercepts caused minor to moderate damage to civilian facilities in certain areas.

In a clear stance against the attacks, the ministry condemned them as “a blatant act of aggression and a flagrant violation of national sovereignty and international law.” It expressed that the safety of citizens, residents, and visitors remains the highest priority and emphasized its readiness to respond to any further escalations.

The Ministry also urged the public to rely on official channels for information and to refrain from sharing unverified reports related to the situation.
