Dubai Offshore Sailing Club Invites Community to Open Day Celebrating Women in Water Sports
On Saturday, November 1, 2025, the Dubai Offshore Sailing Club (DOSC) will welcome the public for a vibrant Community Open Day. This exciting event features a lineup of complimentary activities and introductory sessions tailored to foster interest in sailing and various water sports.
With the backing of the Women on Water (WOW) initiative, this open day shines a light on the increasing participation of women in the sailing world, aiming to make these activities more accessible to everyone in Dubai.
Hands-On Water Sports Activities for All
The doors will swing open at 10:00 AM, offering engaging, hands-on sessions suitable for all experience levels. Attendees can look forward to:
- Introductory sailing sessions led by RYA-certified instructors
- Stand-Up Paddleboarding (SUP) experiences
- A specialized yacht sailing clinic focused on keelboat skills
Highlighting Women in Sailing: The WOW Pursuit Race
One of the day’s standout events will be the WOW Pursuit Race, organized in partnership with Women on Water, an initiative aimed at bolstering female participation in sailing. The schedule for this event includes:
- 1:30 PM – Race briefing
- 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM – WOW Pursuit Race
- 5:30 PM – Prize-giving ceremony
All keelboats are encouraged to join, with an emphasis on having female helms take the lead. This race is not just about competition; it embodies skill, inclusion, and a spirit of community.
