Emirates and dnata Strengthen Community Ties by Donating 430 Strollers to Local Non-Profits
Dubai: Emirates Airport Services, Emirates Engineering, and dnata4good have collaborated with several local non-profit organizations to repurpose and donate 430 baby strollers to children in need. This initiative aims to support families facing hardships across the UAE.
In a concerted community effort, the Emirates Airport Services team transported surplus airport strollers to the Emirates Engineering Facility, where they were upcycled. The dnata4good initiative, driven by employee volunteers, identified local organizations such as Hope Amel UAE, Senses, and Al Noor to receive the strollers.
The recipient organizations expressed their gratitude and outlined various plans for utilizing the strollers. These include donations to single mothers, emergency transportation for students, and use during school trips and outings.
Community Impact and Family Support
The red Emirates strollers are part of the airline’s family-friendly approach and are available free of charge at Dubai International Airport (DXB). Families traveling through Terminal 3 can borrow a stroller from a designated stand, facilitating smoother journeys from check-in to boarding and upon arrival in Dubai. These strollers are regularly sanitized and are designed to accommodate infants, toddlers, and children with special travel needs, making it easier for parents to navigate the airport.
In December 2025, Emirates procured 1,000 new strollers for customer use and allocated 430 older models for repurposing. The Emirates Engineering team, known for their innovative repurposing of seat fabrics into schoolbags for children globally, took the strollers to a specialized workshop for upcycling. The high-quality strollers required minimal adjustments, with branding changes and the addition of a signature tag made from Business Class seat leather, stating, “Donated with love by Emirates.”
The Role of dnata4good
The dnata4good initiative, which focuses on volunteerism in the areas of Community, Environment, and Wellbeing, played a crucial role in this project. The team identified three deserving local entities that could benefit from the strollers—Hope Amel UAE, Al Noor, and Senses—and coordinated the handover.
Following this, the Emirates Airport Services team transported the strollers to a specialized facility for thorough cleaning and sanitization, ensuring they were ready for their new recipients.
