UAE Ministry of Defence Strengthens Strategic Healthcare Partnerships Ahead of ICMM Abu Dhabi 2026

The UAE Ministry of Defence has formalized two strategic partnership agreements with M42, a tech-enabled integrated healthcare entity, and Burjeel Holdings, a super-specialty healthcare services provider. This initiative supports the upcoming 46th World Congress of Military Medicine – ICMM Abu Dhabi 2026, scheduled to take place from November 9 to 13, 2026, in Abu Dhabi.

The agreements were signed during the “Make it in the Emirates 2026” event, attended by notable figures including Sheikh Zayed bin Mansour bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Head of Strategic Collaborations at M42; Major General Staff Ayesha Sultan Al Dhaheri, Executive Director of the Military Health Executive Directorate; Dimitris Moulavasilis, Group Chief Executive Officer of M42; and Dr. Shamsheer Vayalil, Chairman and CEO of Burjeel Holdings.

Strengthening Military Healthcare Collaboration

The signing of these agreements involved key representatives from the Ministry of Defence, including Brigadier Staff Saeed Salem Al Hefeiti and Brigadier Abdullah Rashid Al Naqbi. They were joined by Omran Al Khoori, a member of the Board of Directors at Burjeel Holdings, and Dr. Ali Anees, Chief Operating Officer of M42’s Global Patient Care Platform in the UAE and Bahrain.

The partnership, themed “Unified Care. Global Impact,” is part of the Ministry of Defence’s ongoing efforts to enhance the healthcare ecosystem in support of the congress. It aims to foster collaboration between leading healthcare institutions in both military and civilian medicine.

ICMM Abu Dhabi 2026, organized by the Ministry of Defence in collaboration with the ADNEC Group, serves as an international scientific platform. It will bring together medical and military leaders, experts, and practitioners from over 120 countries to exchange knowledge, review scientific advancements, and strengthen international cooperation in healthcare systems and operational medicine.

Major General Staff Ayesha Sultan Al Dhaheri emphasized the Ministry’s commitment to working closely with strategic partners to deliver a congress that showcases the UAE’s advanced capabilities in military and civilian healthcare. She noted that the partnership with Burjeel Holdings is crucial for enhancing medical readiness and facilitating knowledge exchange, contributing to the development of resilient healthcare systems at both national and international levels.

M42 and Burjeel’s Vision for Future-Ready Healthcare

Dimitris Moulavasilis, Group Chief Executive Officer of M42, expressed pride in partnering with the UAE Ministry of Defence as the Global Health Partner for ICMM Abu Dhabi 2026. He stated that this collaboration reflects the UAE’s leadership in advancing healthcare resilience, innovation, and international collaboration. Moulavasilis highlighted the shared goal of creating a more connected and future-ready global health ecosystem.

Dr. Shamsheer Vayalil remarked that the partnership with the Ministry of Defence underscores a mutual commitment to advancing healthcare systems that are prepared and responsive to the needs of both military and civilian populations. He noted that as Abu Dhabi welcomes global leaders in military medicine, Burjeel Holdings is honored to support a platform that will enhance scientific exchange and strengthen clinical collaboration.

Through this partnership, M42 aims to deliver precision care at the highest standards by leveraging advanced technology, data analytics, and world-class integrated healthcare services.

A Global Platform for Military Medicine and Healthcare Collaboration

Burjeel Holdings will contribute its expertise in specialized healthcare services, medical innovation, and clinical capabilities to support the congress. This reinforces the congress’s objectives of enhancing medical readiness and promoting integrated healthcare approaches across defense and humanitarian contexts.

The World Congress of Military Medicine serves as a global platform for advancing scientific dialogue, fostering knowledge exchange, and strengthening international partnerships in response to evolving health and humanitarian challenges.

This agreement illustrates the ongoing collaboration between national institutions and strategic partners to deliver a distinguished edition of ICMM Abu Dhabi 2026, aligning with the UAE’s position as a global hub for specialized international events and advanced healthcare systems.
