His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, as well as the Ruler of Dubai, recently engaged with graduates of the Dubai Business Associates (DBA) programme. This prestigious initiative, celebrated for its contribution to nurturing talent, is marking its significant 10th anniversary.
During the meeting, Sheikh Mohammed emphasized the critical role of investing in human capital. He articulated that a creative, innovation-driven economy is vital for empowering the next generation of entrepreneurs. His vision focuses on enabling talented individuals to transform innovative ideas into meaningful projects that tackle future challenges while enhancing societal welfare.
The joy of connecting with graduates from diverse backgrounds—both Emirati and international—was palpable. Sheikh Mohammed encouraged the alumni to utilize the knowledge and entrepreneurial skills gained from the DBA programme. He hopes that they will actively contribute to shaping a future characterized by knowledge, innovation, and an unwavering commitment to improving quality of life.
Sheikh Mohammed affirmed Dubai’s status as a global hub for creativity. He underlined the city’s commitment to fostering initiatives that stimulate human potential and excellence. This commitment reflects Dubai’s broader ambition to position itself at the forefront of pivotal sectors while cultivating an environment conducive to innovation.
The meeting was notably attended by His Excellency Mohammed Ibrahim Al Shaibani, Director General of His Highness the Ruler’s Court, alongside various officials connected to the DBA programme. Their collective presence underscores the collaborative efforts behind this successful initiative.
Known for its competitive edge among global business and educational programmes, the DBA initiative attracts over 5,500 applications annually from graduates worldwide. Managed by Falcon Consultancy, a Dubai-based firm specializing in marketing and innovation, the DBA programme has become synonymous with leadership development and excellence since its inception in 2014.
The programme blends rigorous academic instruction with practical business placements, providing participants with invaluable industry networking opportunities and cultural exposure. The most recent cohort saw 36 participants from 22 different countries, including nine Emiratis, engaging in a comprehensive nine-month training experience.
Participants of the DBA programme collaborate with renowned UAE-based organizations such as Emirates and DP World, undertaking real-world consulting projects that offer substantial insights and invaluable experience. Since its launch, DBA has celebrated the inclusion of 278 associates hailing from 44 different nations, reinforcing its global reach and impact.
In their pursuit of excellence, over 140 work placements have been successfully completed through partnerships with more than 30 leading companies in Dubai. Furthermore, the programme has overseen the delivery of 84 consulting projects valued at approximately $27 million, showcasing its significant contributions to Dubai’s economic landscape.
A notable point of pride for the DBA initiative is its academic collaboration with esteemed learning partners like PwC’s Academy and Capadev. These partnerships bolster the curriculum with cutting-edge training and development opportunities, ensuring that Associates are thoroughly prepared for the challenges of the professional world.
