HONG KONG SAR – The “Wealth Management Expo 2026,” organized by TVB and powered by Bank of China (Hong Kong) (BOCHK), took place on June 27, 2026. The event, themed “Empowering Enterprises to Go Global, Pioneering the Blue Ocean of Silver Economy,” gathered leading financial experts and industry figures to discuss key insights on global market trends, the international use of RMB, and the burgeoning silver economy.
Keynote Speakers and Opening Remarks
The Expo was officiated by Mr. Michael WONG, GBS, JP, Acting Financial Secretary of the HKSAR Government; Mr. Christopher HUI, GBS, JP, Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury; and Mr. Stephen CHAN, Deputy Chief Executive of BOCHK. Mr. HUI highlighted Hong Kong’s role as a global offshore RMB hub, emphasizing its support for enterprises aiming to expand internationally. Other notable attendees included Dr. KO Wing Man, GBS, JP, and Mr. SIU Sai Wo, General Manager (Business Operations) of TVB.
In his opening remarks, Mr. CHAN stated that the year marks the beginning of the nation’s 15th Five-Year Plan, which aims to enhance Hong Kong’s position as an international asset and wealth management center. He noted that BOCHK would align its strategies with national policies to foster regional business development and promote the international use of RMB.
Opening Forum: Insights on Global Wealth Investment
The opening forum, titled “New Opportunities in Global Wealth Investment: RMB Empowering Enterprises to Go Global,” featured discussions led by Mr. HUI, Mrs. Pauline NGAN, BBS, JP, Deputy Chairman and Managing Director of Mainland Headwear Holdings Limited; Mr. Sam YU, Chairman of the Hong Kong Investment Funds Association; and Mr. Jack YANG, RMB Business Executive Director of BOCHK. The panel explored international market trends and the potential for new investment opportunities as enterprises seek to expand globally.
Summit Forum: Exploring the Silver Economy
The summit forum, themed “Redefining Value in the Silver Age: Uncovering Blue Ocean Market Opportunities,” addressed the increasing demand driven by the aging population. Key speakers included Dr. KO Wing Man, Mr. Angus CHAN, Director of Elderly Care Services at Chinachem Group; Mr. Terry WONG, CEO of Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation; and Mr. Wilson TANG, CEO of BOC Group Life Assurance Company Limited. They discussed the business opportunities within the silver economy and the need for supply chain transformation across traditional sectors such as healthcare and insurance.
Thematic Workshops: Strategies for Wealth Growth
The Expo featured several thematic workshops focusing on various aspects of wealth management. Topics included global fund and equity market conditions, retirement wealth planning, and emerging markets.
One workshop, “Focusing on Emerging Value in Asia: Embarking on a New Chapter for RMB Assets and China’s Equity and Bond Markets,” analyzed how deepening cooperation between the Chinese Mainland and ASEAN countries is creating new investment opportunities. Another session, “Harnessing Multi-Asset Strategies to Capture Asia-Pacific Income Opportunities,” provided insights on diversifying asset portfolios amid global market volatility.
The retirement planning workshop, “Forward-Looking Wealth Planning: Charting Your Own Path to a Premium Retirement,” addressed common challenges faced by Hong Kong residents, offering financial advice tailored for the silver generation. Additionally, the equities workshop, “Navigating 2026: Decoding Stock Market Strategies,” examined global equity performance and strategies for balancing investment portfolios.
Digital Experience Zone and New Service Launch
A 3D immersive digital experience zone showcased BOCHK’s capabilities, including its extensive network reach and commitment to anti-fraud education. During the event, BOCHK Private Wealth also introduced its new Wealth+ service proposition, which aims to address clients’ diverse needs beyond traditional wealth management, encompassing lifestyle experiences and family financial planning.
