Jackery unveils Explorer 100D, its smallest portable power station with LFP batteries

Published:

Jackery has introduced the Explorer 100D, its smallest portable power station to date, featuring lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries. Measuring just 4.6 by 3.4 by 3.4 inches and weighing 1.87 pounds, the Explorer 100D is designed for portability, making it suitable for travelers looking to power multiple devices on the go. The device will be available starting November 15th for $99 through Walmart, with an early option available at Costco in a two-pack for $179.99.

Launched as part of Jackery’s ongoing commitment to battery innovation, the Explorer 100D utilizes LFP technology, which the company claims can endure up to eight years of regular use and offers a lifespan of 3,000 charge cycles. This durability positions the 100D as a competitive alternative to smaller, less expensive 30,000mAh portable chargers that typically use standard lithium-ion batteries.

Design and Features

The compact design of the Explorer 100D does not compromise on functionality. It includes an integrated handle for easy transport and an optional shoulder strap. The power station features two 140W USB-C ports and one 18W USB-A port, with a maximum output of 158W. However, users should note that total power delivery will decrease when all ports are in use simultaneously.

Solar Charging Capability

For those who may find themselves without a traditional power source, the Explorer 100D supports up to 100W of direct solar input. This feature allows the device to recharge to 80% capacity in approximately 90 minutes when paired with a compatible solar panel, enhancing its appeal for outdoor enthusiasts and travelers.

As Jackery continues to innovate in the portable power market, the Explorer 100D stands out not only for its size but also for its advanced battery technology, making it a noteworthy option for consumers seeking reliable power solutions.
