The UAE government is advancing its digital transformation by accelerating the adoption of agentic AI, enabling government services to autonomously execute transactions and streamline processes. This shift aims to enhance customer experience by reducing paperwork and minimizing repetitive requests, allowing for a more efficient interaction with government systems.
As reported, the integration of agentic AI is already operational in several initiatives across the UAE, with more in development. This evolving model emphasizes reducing customer involvement while ensuring data protection and human oversight where necessary.
Abu Dhabi and Ajman Lead in Autonomous Services
Abu Dhabi’s TAMM platform exemplifies this shift with its TAMM AutoGov feature, which automatically renews licenses and medical appointments without customer initiation. Serving 3.8 million users, TAMM processes 95% of requests using AI and has handled over 1.9 million service cases through conversational AI.
In October, the Abu Dhabi Department of Government Enablement launched GovGPT, an AI-driven knowledge agent designed for government employees. Additionally, the Abu Dhabi Executive Council utilized an AI-powered meeting platform to analyze proposals and prepare summaries for meetings.
Ajman has also made strides, recently completing the UAE’s first government transaction to renew a trade license using agentic AI. This process involves notifying customers before license expiration and directing them to an AI assistant via the Ajman One app, which coordinates with relevant departments to complete the renewal.
AI Assistants Enhance Business Processes
The Ajman Free Zones Authority introduced OneClick at AI Everything Abu Dhabi 2026, facilitating business establishment and instant license issuance through a single conversation. This assistant guides investors through various steps, from defining business concepts to processing applications and issuing licenses.
This initiative reflects a broader trend towards integrating multiple government procedures into a single AI-powered interaction, simplifying the customer experience.
Dubai’s Ambitious AI Integration in Utilities and Transport
In Dubai, the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has transformed 16 of its 21 services into AI-enhanced, autonomous services in under 90 days, with plans to complete the remaining services shortly. These include essential functions like electricity and water activation and technical report responses.
Moreover, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has upgraded its virtual assistant, Mahboub, to utilize agentic AI for coordinating interconnected services, such as paying vehicle fines and renewing registrations.
Federal Initiatives and Future Plans
At the federal level, the UAE Cabinet approved a framework in May 2026 to expand agentic AI usage, targeting a transformation of 50% of government operations within two years. This initiative includes training 80,000 federal employees in agentic AI tools and developing specialized assistants for various sectors.
On October 22, 2026, the UAE Government launched the Agentic AI Application Lab for Government Services, aimed at helping ministries identify priority services and develop solutions in collaboration with customers. This lab will monitor user experiences and assess service readiness before wider deployment.
In addition, the National Centre of Meteorology has announced the launch of the UAE’s first agentic AI assistants in meteorology, further showcasing the technology’s expanding role across sectors.
As the UAE continues to integrate agentic AI into its government services, the focus remains on enhancing efficiency and customer satisfaction while ensuring necessary safeguards are in place. For more details, see Economy Middle East.
