ENOC Group Strengthens Sustainable Aviation Fuel Supply Chain Through MoU with Allied Biofuels Holding

Strategic Partnership for Sustainable Aviation Fuel

Dubai, UAE – ENOC Group, a prominent integrated global energy company, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Allied Biofuels Holding, headquartered in Abu Dhabi. This agreement aims to explore the offtake and distribution of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) and Electro-synthetic Sustainable Aviation Fuel (e-SAF) across local, regional, and international markets. The fuels will be sourced from Allied Biofuels’ integrated production facility currently under development in Uzbekistan.

Establishing a Dedicated Working Group

As part of the MoU, ENOC and Allied Biofuels will establish a dedicated working group to evaluate the commercial feasibility of creating a long-term distribution pathway for the produced SAF and e-SAF. Both companies will work towards a formal supply agreement, contingent on the evaluation framework outlined in the MoU, prior to the commencement of operations at the facility.

Addressing Global Aviation Decarbonization

Sustainable Aviation Fuel is recognized as one of the most scalable near-term solutions for decarbonizing the global aviation sector. Demand for SAF significantly exceeds current production capacity worldwide. ENOC, as a leading supplier of aviation fuels in the region, is strategically positioned to help bridge this gap.

Allied Biofuels’ facility is designed to manufacture both SAF and e-SAF, aligning with the long-term sustainability commitments of the UAE and the international aviation community.

Commitment to Sustainable Energy Solutions

Hussain Sultan Lootah, Group CEO of ENOC, emphasized the importance of developing a national SAF ecosystem that requires collaboration across the entire value chain. He stated that this agreement reflects ENOC’s strategic commitment to advancing sustainable energy solutions in line with the UAE’s Sustainable Aviation Fuel Roadmap 2030 and Net Zero 2050 Strategy. ENOC aims to make Sustainable Aviation Fuel commercially viable and operationally dependable, positioning the UAE at the forefront of clean aviation globally.

Alfred Benedict, Managing Director of Allied Biofuels Holding, noted that ENOC’s expertise and distribution capabilities are vital for developing a credible pathway for SAF and e-SAF from their Uzbekistan facility to various markets. He highlighted Allied Biofuels’ focus on building a reliable and scalable supply platform to support long-term decarbonization in the aviation sector.

Enhancing the Lower-Carbon Aviation Sector

This announcement underscores ENOC Group’s ongoing commitment to establishing a world-class Sustainable Aviation Fuel capability. By engaging across the SAF supply chain—from production to distribution and offtake—ENOC is enhancing its role as a strategic enabler of the lower-carbon aviation sector.
