Dubai Land Department expands AI adoption and talent development in real estate sector

Published:

The Dubai Land Department (DLD) is enhancing its integration of artificial intelligence (AI) within real estate services and operations, while also focusing on developing specialized educational pathways for future talent in the sector. This initiative was announced during the International Property Show (IPS 2026), where DLD showcased its AI applications and talent development strategies in partnership with the Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) and the University of Dubai, as reported by Economy Middle East.

DLD Launches Initial Registration Platform

During a panel discussion titled “The Era of Agentic AI: From Chatbots to Digital Colleagues,” DLD explored the evolution of AI from basic query-response systems to advanced digital tools capable of executing tasks and processing transactions. The discussion highlighted the potential of agentic AI to streamline operations by reducing repetitive data entry and expediting application processing.

As part of its AI initiatives, DLD introduced the Initial Registration platform, designed to enhance real estate processes. This platform utilizes AI to read documents, extract pertinent data, and facilitate transaction processing that meets established criteria. Recently launched, it aims to simplify the developer journey by integrating project registration, real estate transaction registration, and escrow account management into a cohesive digital workflow.

The platform is expected to improve efficiency and transparency in digital services, supporting the real estate sector’s growth. By automating processes, it minimizes repetitive data entry and document submissions, while enhancing coordination among developers, DLD, and banks managing escrow accounts. Additionally, it offers developers a consolidated view of their projects and portfolios, enabling better business monitoring and decision-making.

This initiative aligns with the UAE government’s broader strategy to adopt agentic AI. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum recently announced a framework aimed at transitioning 50% of government sectors and services to operate through autonomous AI models within the next two years.

DLD’s Commitment to Talent Development

In conjunction with its technological advancements, DLD is also prioritizing the development of specialized talent for the real estate industry. The department introduced the “Real Estate Sector Diploma,” created in collaboration with HCT, which comprises 90 hours of study over two academic years. The first cohort is set to commence in autumn 2026.

Furthermore, the University of Dubai is working with DLD to develop specialized academic programs, including a bachelor’s degree that covers finance, investment, valuation, real estate regulation, property management, and real estate technologies. DLD’s participation in IPS 2026, held at the Dubai World Trade Centre until September 9, underscores its commitment to merging digital transformation with skill development as Dubai’s real estate sector continues to evolve.
