DIEZ doubles Oraseya Capital fund size to AED1 billion to boost global investments

Published:

The Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority (DIEZ) has announced a significant expansion of its venture capital fund, Oraseya Capital, doubling its size from AED500 million to AED1 billion. This move is designed to enhance support for companies with global growth potential and to strengthen Dubai’s position as a leading hub for venture capital and innovation.

The increase in the fund’s size will allow Oraseya Capital to raise its maximum investment per company from US$3 million to US$6 million (approximately AED22 million). This adjustment aims to facilitate participation in larger funding rounds and to support companies at more advanced stages of growth. Furthermore, the investment scope will now extend beyond UAE-based companies to include global firms that hold strategic relevance for the country, thereby broadening access to international market opportunities.

Oraseya Capital has quickly established itself as a key player in the UAE’s venture capital landscape, ranking as the most active investor in the country for three consecutive years, according to data from MAGNiTT. In 2024, it maintained this top position and continued to lead in 2025. In the first half of 2026, Oraseya Capital again ranked first in the UAE for overall deal count and early-stage investment activity, placing second across the Middle East and North Africa in both categories.

The fund’s achievements have not gone unnoticed; it was awarded the title of ‘Venture Capital Firm of the Year’ at the Entrepreneur Middle East Awards 2025. Since its launch in November 2023, Oraseya Capital has built a diverse portfolio comprising 66 active companies, averaging 25 investments annually.

This strategic expansion aligns with the objectives of the Dubai Economic Agenda, D33, which aims to position Dubai as a global leader in future industries and entrepreneurship. By enhancing the capabilities of Oraseya Capital, DIEZ is reinforcing its commitment to fostering innovation and supporting the growth of promising companies on a global scale.

According to the relevant named organisation, this doubling of the fund is expected to significantly impact the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Dubai, providing vital resources for startups and established companies alike.
