Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council (DMC), convened a council meeting to chart the next phase of media development in Dubai. During the meeting, H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed announced the launch of ‘Dubai Business’, a new business media platform under Dubai Media Incorporated. This strategic initiative aims to bolster Dubai’s position in the global media landscape and effectively communicate its economic vision to international audiences. The platform is a reflection of Dubai’s rising status as a leading economic center and aligns with the objectives of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33.

The meeting also reviewed the agenda for the upcoming “Gaming Retreat,” scheduled for next week. The retreat aims to build on the efforts of the Dubai Media Council, through the Dubai Films and Games Commission and the Dubai Gaming Committee, to develop a comprehensive and globally competitive gaming ecosystem in Dubai.

Nehal Badri, Secretary General of the Dubai Media Council, remarked that Dubai is committed to building a media ecosystem that is ready for the future, supporting its economic ambitions and long-term vision for sustainable growth. She highlighted the strategic role of media in enhancing Dubai’s global position, improving its economic competitiveness, and attracting investment and talent in line with the Dubai Economic Agenda D33.

Badri emphasized the Council’s focus on high-growth sectors, particularly gaming, which has transformed into a multi-billion-dollar global industry. She stated that Dubai possesses the foundational strengths necessary to establish itself as a leading international gaming hub.

Recent Media Retreat Outcomes

The meeting also addressed the outcomes of a recent Media Retreat, which gathered influential figures and decision-makers from advertising, marketing, film, gaming, and digital media. This retreat aimed to shape the next phase of industry growth and enhance future readiness, bringing together over 100 executives to discuss key growth drivers, including infrastructure, talent development, regulation, innovation, and investment.

The meeting was attended by Council members Aisha Miran, Malek Al Malek, Hala Badri, Mohammed Al Mulla, Younus Al Nasser, Arif Amiri, and Khalfan Juma Belhoul.
