Emirati Media Forum Launches in Dubai to Strengthen Media’s Role Amid Regional Change
Dubai is set to host the 11th edition of the Emirati Media Forum on June 22, 2026, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council. Organized by the Dubai Press Club, this one-day event will convene thought leaders, senior officials, media professionals, and content creators from across the UAE to explore the evolving role of national media in light of significant regional and global developments.
Forum’s Significance Amid Regional Developments
The Emirati Media Forum will take place at the Mandarin Oriental Downtown Dubai, a venue chosen for its prominence and accessibility. This year’s forum comes at a critical juncture, as the region faces rapid changes and challenges. The discussions will focus on how media can act as a partner in promoting national values, enhancing public trust, and fostering social cohesion.
The agenda includes several key sessions aimed at addressing the pressing issues facing the media landscape. A keynote address titled “When the Nation Calls: Media in Times of Crisis” will be delivered by Abdulla bin Mohammed Al Hamed, Chairman of the UAE National Media Authority, and moderated by Nada Al Shaibani from Dubai Media Incorporated.
Addressing Post-Crisis Challenges
Another significant session, “Beyond the Crisis: The Next Chapter,” will feature Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Defense, Interior and Foreign Affairs Committee at the UAE Federal National Council. This session will delve into the post-crisis landscape, moderated by Mona Al Raisi from the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority.
The forum will also highlight the UAE’s position as a global economic and investment hub through a session titled “The UAE: Where Security Meets Opportunity.” Mohamed Al Abbar, Founder of Emaar and Noon and Chairman of Eagle Hills, will participate, with moderation by Hamed bin Karam, Editor-in-Chief of Al Bayan newspaper.
Security and National Dimensions
A session titled “Guarding the Skies, Reassuring the Nation” will address the security implications of recent regional events. Brigadier General Staff Pilot AbdulNasir Al Humaidi, Official Spokesperson of the UAE Ministry of Defence, will discuss national efforts aimed at enhancing community security. This session will be moderated by Mohammed Al Ahmed from Abu Dhabi Media Network.
Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Vice Chairperson and Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council and President of the Dubai Press Club, emphasized the importance of this year’s forum, stating it serves as a pivotal moment for re-evaluating the media’s role and responsibilities amid rapid changes in the region.

Al Marri noted that the forum comes at a time marked by complex developments across political, security, economic, and media spheres.
