Savoring Filipino Flavors: IFEX Kitchen Showcases Culinary Excellence

MANILA, PHILIPPINES — Food lovers and culinary enthusiasts are in for a treat as the IFEX Kitchen gears up for an exciting three-day series of cooking demonstrations. This event is part of IFEX Philippines, the country’s premier B2B and export-oriented food trade show, organized by the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM).

Celebrating Filipino Culinary Talent

The 18th edition of IFEX Philippines is not just a showcase of products; it is a celebration of Filipino culinary talent that aims to elevate the nation’s standing as a global food destination. The event will also feature the Sustainability Solutions Exchange (SSX) exhibition and conference, underscoring CITEM’s commitment to sustainability in the food industry.

Star Chefs on the IFEX Kitchen Stage

Diving into Day 2 of IFEX Kitchen from May 22-24, 2025, attendees will witness an impressive lineup of internationally acclaimed Filipino chefs. Notable among them is Chef Nouel Catis, known for his viral Knafeh chocolate bar from his brand Sna’ap Chocolates in Dubai. Joining him are Adobros chefs Michael Pastrana and Morris Catanghal, as well as Chef David Pamplona, the head chef of Naimas Café and Bistro in Dubai. Together, these chefs promise to engage audiences through cooking demonstrations that creatively utilize products from IFEX exhibitors.

A Cultural Fusion of Flavors

The culinary magic doesn’t stop there. Chef Nouel will introduce sweet treats featuring local ingredients such as Philippine ube and cacao, while Chef Pamplona will draw from his Latin American and Pan-Asian influences to create savory dishes that highlight local condiments. Meanwhile, the Adobros duo will make use of innovative ingredients like soybean protein and coconut oil to fuse diverse cultural flavors in their dishes.

Emphasizing Food Industry Opportunities

According to CITEM Executive Director Leah Pulido Ocampo, the IFEX Kitchen serves to underscore the need for opportunities within the Philippine food industry. “We owe it to our industry to help level the playing field as well as provide inspiration,” she states. This spirit of collaboration and innovation is vital as more Filipino food players gain recognition on the global stage.

A Reminder of Roots and Community

Chef Nouel’s recent visit to the FOODPhilippines Pavilion at Gulfood 2025 reignited his passion for Filipino cuisine and inspired him to participate in IFEX Philippines. His commitment reflects a growing acknowledgment among chefs that Filipino food has come a long way, and it continues to resonate globally.

Showcasing Local Expertise

While the international chefs shine on Day 2, Days 1 and 3 are dedicated to local talent. Esteemed chefs like Reima Ancheta, Cecille Chang, Zhe Jacinto, Riza Matibag-Muyot, Kenneth Asuncion, and Robert Cosme will also be featured, adding a local flair to the program. Their diverse backgrounds and expertise promise to make the event an enriching experience for all attendees.

Event Partnerships and Final Touches

Managing the culinary details for IFEX Kitchen is the Center for Culinary Arts (CCA) Manila, with Cook Magazine as the media partner. Additionally, culinary equipment and kitchenware will be provided by La Germania and Masflex, ensuring that the equipment used matches the quality of the dishes being prepared.
