UAE Streamlines Biometric Appointment Process for New Residents at Customer Happiness Centres Across All Seven Emirates
New residents in the United Arab Emirates can now complete their biometric scans—fingerprints and iris scans—at Customer Happiness Centres located throughout all seven emirates. This initiative is crucial for those applying for residency, as biometric data collection is a mandatory step in obtaining an Emirates ID.
Biometric data collection is essential for all applicants aged 15 and older. The collected data establishes a unique digital identity, enhancing security and facilitating the visa application process.
Booking a Biometric Appointment
To submit biometric data, individuals must visit a Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security (ICP) Customer Happiness Centre. Residents in Dubai can also opt for Amer Centres or authorized medical facilities for this purpose.
It is important to note that appointments are required, as walk-ins are seldom accommodated. The following steps outline how to book an appointment through the ICP’s official portal:
- Visit icp.gov.ae and log in using your UAE PASS.
- Access your Emirates ID application, either in progress or a printed copy. You will need your personal registration acknowledgment number (PRAN) or the application reference number found at the top of the document.
- Select ‘Book Biometric Appointment’ and enter your PRAN.
- Choose your emirate and preferred Customer Happiness Centre. The portal displays available time slots in real time.
- Confirm the date and time, then download the appointment details, which are required on the day of your visit.
