New Attractions and Theming
The expansion builds on the park’s immersive ‘Lost City’ theming, an extension of its narrative, “The Legend of The Lost Pearl.” Guests are invited to explore a world filled with discovery, where high-energy thrills meet family-oriented experiences. The new offerings include eight innovative slides, two jumping platforms, and a lounging pool, catering to a wide range of visitors.
With the addition of these attractions, Yas Waterworld now boasts over 70 rides, slides, and experiences, reinforcing its status as one of the most exciting waterparks in the region.
Highlights of the Expansion
Rayan Al Haddar, General Manager at Yas Waterworld Abu Dhabi, emphasized the significance of this expansion, stating that it represents a major milestone in their ongoing mission to redefine water-based entertainment. He noted that the new attractions reflect the park’s commitment to enhancing guest experiences through innovation.
Among the standout features is Matamir’s Drop, the tallest waterslide in the UAE, where riders plunge from heights exceeding 40 meters, navigating a 233-meter course filled with twists and turns. For thrill-seekers, Sahel Matamir offers a freefall racing experience characterized by rapid acceleration and moments of weightlessness.
Additional attractions include Matamir Loop, designed for speed, and Matamir Twist – Matamir Lights, which combines sharp drops with immersive lighting effects for a visually stimulating ride. Guests can also enjoy Matamir Splash, the park’s first dueling mat racer, allowing participants to race side-by-side to a soaking finish.
Relaxation and Leisure Options
In addition to high-adrenaline rides, the expansion introduces more relaxed experiences. Sarab, a spacious leisure pool, offers families a tranquil environment to unwind. Al Afda invites adventure enthusiasts to leap from a jump platform into refreshing waters, providing a perfect escape from the heat.
