Vinpearl Partners with Three Major Indian Travel Firms, Strengthening Access to 1.47 Billion-Person Market

MUMBAI, INDIA – On May 9, 2026, Vinpearl Joint Stock Company formalized strategic partnerships by signing Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with three prominent Indian travel companies: Thomas Cook India, SOTC Travel, and MakeMyTrip. This initiative aims to enhance Vietnam’s visibility as a preferred travel destination for India’s vast population.

Strategic Partnerships to Enhance Tourism

The agreements were finalized during the Vietnam–India Business Forum, coinciding with the state visit of General Secretary and President To Lam to India. The signing ceremony was attended by General Secretary and President To Lam, alongside Maharashtra Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadnavis.

These partnerships are designed to create direct access channels for various customer segments, stimulate travel demand, and promote experiential tourism. The goal is to position Vietnam as an attractive destination for India’s 1.47 billion citizens.

Profiles of the Indian Partners

The three Indian partners represent some of the most influential travel distribution channels in the country. Thomas Cook India specializes in group travel, corporate travel, and large-scale MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) tourism. SOTC Travel is recognized for its family vacations, group tours, and mid- to high-end leisure travel offerings. MakeMyTrip, as India’s leading online travel platform, excels in reaching younger travelers and those who prefer digital booking methods.

Vinpearl’s Comprehensive Offerings

Vinpearl, Vietnam’s leading hospitality and tourism brand, operates nearly 60 properties across the nation. Its extensive five-star ecosystem includes accommodations, shopping, dining, entertainment, golf, and MICE services, catering to the diverse travel preferences of Indian visitors. This includes large group travel, multi-generational family vacations, and experience-rich holidays.

The partnerships aim to leverage the strengths of each organization, enhancing tourism development capabilities and creating tailored travel products. This approach is expected to gradually establish Vietnam as a preferred destination for Indian travelers.

Statements from Key Executives

Ms. Ngo Thi Huong, CEO of Vinpearl, emphasized the importance of the Indian market in the company’s international expansion strategy. She stated that through collaborations with leading industry players, Vinpearl is broadening its market reach and developing products tailored to various customer segments. The objective is to strengthen Vinpearl’s presence in India while positioning Vietnam as a distinctive destination on the global tourism map.

Mr. Anubhav Bansal, Vice President of MakeMyTrip, highlighted Vinpearl’s integrated tourism and hospitality ecosystem. He noted that the scale and diversity of Vinpearl’s offerings align well with the preferences of Indian travelers. Bansal expressed confidence that this partnership would significantly increase Indian tourist arrivals to Vietnam in the coming years.

Growing Demand for International Travel

India is currently the world’s most populous country, with a rapidly expanding middle class driving a surge in demand for international travel. Recognizing this trend, Vinpearl has developed specialized offerings for Indian travelers, including luxury wedding tourism, MICE travel, multi-generational family holidays, group trips, and couple getaways. In 2025, the number of Indian guests staying at Vinpearl properties surged by 402% year-on-year, followed by a further 335% increase in the first four months of 2026 compared to the same period in 2025.

The signing of these MoUs marks a significant step in Vinpearl’s strategy to sustainably grow its visitor base from the Indian market, further establishing Vietnam as a preferred destination for Indian travelers.
