Qatar’s real estate trading volume reaches QAR516 million in one week

Published:

Qatar’s real estate trading volume reached QAR516 million during the week of October 25 to 29, according to the Real Estate Registration Department at the Ministry of Justice. This figure reflects a robust market activity, with the total value of sales contracts for residential units alone amounting to QAR56.5 million, contributing to an overall trading volume of QAR572.539 million (approximately $156.65 million).

The trading activity encompassed a diverse range of properties, including vacant plots, houses, residential buildings, a hotel building, and residential compounds. Notable transactions occurred across various municipalities, including Doha, Al Rayyan, Al Wakra, Al Daayen, Umm Slal, Al Khor, and Al Thakhira, as well as in prominent areas such as Lusail, The Pearl Island, and Al Gharrafa.

Recent Trends in Qatar’s Real Estate Market

In the previous reporting period from October 18 to 22, real estate trading volume exceeded QAR600 million, indicating a consistent upward trend in market activity. This surge is part of a broader pattern observed in September, where the total value of real estate transactions registered under sales contracts reached QAR1.75 billion. This represented a 36 percent increase in transaction value, a 17 percent rise in the number of properties sold, and a 62 percent expansion in the total area traded.

During September, a total of 495 property sale transactions were recorded, with Doha, Al Rayyan, and Umm Salal leading in transaction values. Doha alone accounted for QAR536.1 million in transactions, while Al Rayyan followed closely with QAR514.1 million.

Market Resilience and Future Outlook

The latest data underscores the resilience of Qatar’s real estate sector, which continues to thrive amid ongoing legislative and regulatory developments aimed at enhancing real estate brokerage, registration, and ownership rights. These measures are designed to attract both domestic and foreign investment, further solidifying real estate as a key component of the Qatari economy.

As the market evolves, stakeholders are closely monitoring these trends, which reflect not only the strength of the real estate sector but also the overall economic stability of Qatar. The sustained growth in transactions and property values suggests a positive outlook for the future of real estate investment in the region.
