Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council.

This year marks a notable first; the “Our Flag at the Summit” initiative has partnered with a governmental body. Over the years, the initiative has helped raise the UAE flag on various prominent summits, motivating countless young Emiratis to embrace sporting and humanitarian efforts that resonate with the nation’s values.

Logistical Challenges and Journey

The expedition required meticulous planning and execution. The team covered over 5,000 kilometers, beginning their journey from Dubai International Airport and traveling to Valtourance resort in the French Alps. This included approximately ten hours of flight time followed by a nearly 220-kilometer road journey from Geneva Airport, featuring challenging mountain roads. Upon reaching an altitude of over 3,300 meters, the team bravely unfurled the UAE flag and the portraits, facing harsh winter weather with temperatures plunging between -3 and -9 degrees Celsius.
