Strategic Collaboration Announced

Cairo – Elsewedy University of Technology (SUTech) – Polytechnic of Egypt has entered into a strategic partnership with Metropolia University of Applied Sciences, Finland’s foremost institution of applied sciences. This collaboration aims to establish a joint degree program in Software Engineering Game Development Technology, reflecting SUTech’s commitment to providing advanced, internationally aligned education that meets the evolving needs of the labor market.

The agreement was formalized by Prof. Dr. Ahmed Hassan, President of SUTech, and Mr. Simo Mustila, Deputy CEO of Metropolia University. The signing ceremony took place during an official visit by a Finnish delegation to SUTech’s campus in 10th of Ramadan City. The visit included a tour of the university’s advanced laboratories and learning environments, followed by discussions aimed at enhancing cooperation between the institutions.

Degree Program Details

The new program will allow students to earn an international degree from Metropolia University, alongside a Bachelor of Engineering Technology from SUTech. This initiative also includes opportunities for student exchanges between the two institutions, providing an integrated academic experience that enhances both practical and theoretical skills. The program is scheduled to officially launch in April 2026.

Hanan El Rihany, CEO of Elsewedy EDTECH, expressed pride in this partnership, emphasizing its significance in advancing human capital development. She stated that the collaboration aims to create a technological bridge, transferring Finnish expertise to Egypt’s industrial sector. This initiative is designed to prepare a new generation of engineers equipped to compete in the global market for game development and software engineering.

Risto Vahanen, Chairman of the Finnish Consortium for International Education (FCIE), highlighted the role of FCIE in facilitating this strategic collaboration. He noted that the partnership aligns with FCIE’s mission to foster sustainable international education collaborations. By merging Finnish educational expertise with Egypt’s demand for technologically skilled professionals, this program is expected to deliver significant value to students, faculty, and the broader educational landscape.

Simo Mustila remarked on the importance of this partnership for expanding Metropolia’s international presence. He emphasized that the collaboration transcends mere curriculum exchange, focusing on creating shared educational experiences that combine theoretical knowledge with practical application. This approach aims to equip students with the global skills necessary for success in rapidly changing work environments.
