Sharjah – The 57th edition of the Watch and Jewellery Middle East Show was officially inaugurated by Sheikh Khaled bin Abdullah bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Ports, Customs and Free Zones Authority, on Wednesday. This prominent exhibition, organized by Expo Centre Sharjah with the support of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), will continue until June 14, featuring a record participation of 400 exhibitors from 19 countries.

Exhibition Highlights and Innovations

Spanning a total area of 30,000 square meters, the exhibition showcases an impressive array of products, including gold, diamonds, gemstones, high-end jewellery, and luxury watches. During his tour, Sheikh Khaled explored the latest product launches and design innovations presented by both local and international jewellery brands.

The exhibition features several major international pavilions, highlighting luxury watch collections and exclusive diamond jewellery. Sheikh Khaled’s visit underscored the event’s role as a significant platform for global industry innovation.

Additionally, Sheikh Khaled engaged with Emirati designers participating under the Emirati Goldsmiths Platform, a strategic initiative aimed at promoting national talent and craftsmanship within the gold and jewellery sector. The Emirati designers displayed innovative gold creations that blend authentic Emirati heritage with contemporary aesthetics, reflecting global fashion trends while preserving the UAE’s cultural identity.

Sheikh Khaled emphasized the importance of specialized exhibitions in Sharjah, noting that they reinforce the emirate’s status as a regional and international hub for the exhibitions industry. Al Owais noted the ongoing global growth in the sector, which elevates the event’s significance as a marketplace for innovation and knowledge exchange. He emphasized the importance of initiatives like the Emirates Goldsmiths Platform, which nurtures and empowers Emirati talent in jewellery design.

This year’s edition features participation from eight Arab countries, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Lebanon, and Yemen, alongside key international markets such as China, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Pakistan, Russia, Singapore, Thailand, Türkiye, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

Five dedicated international pavilions showcase exhibitors from Hong Kong, India, Italy, Singapore, and Thailand. These pavilions provide visitors and industry professionals with direct access to the latest international design trends and exclusive collections from leading brands.

The exhibition presents a comprehensive showcase of premium collections, including luxury diamond jewellery, high-end gold, platinum, and silver pieces, as well as fashion jewellery and coloured gemstones. It also highlights the latest trends in laboratory-grown diamonds and precious metals, alongside new luxury watch releases and equipment used in jewellery manufacturing.

Emirati Goldsmiths Platform

The Emirati Goldsmiths Platform stands out as a key attraction, showcasing advanced Emirati craftsmanship and heritage-driven jewellery design. This platform allows Emirati designers and emerging innovators to compete alongside major international exhibitors, while also supporting established local jewellery companies in the UAE market.

The exhibition is open to visitors daily from 1:00 PM to 10:00 PM, with extended hours on Fridays from 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM. These hours facilitate a premium retail experience, allowing attendees to explore exclusive limited-edition collections and high-value jewellery pieces.
