Government of Sharjah to Hire 1,000 Emiratis in January 2026

Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, the Ruler of Sharjah and a Supreme Council Member, has announced an initiative to employ 1,000 Emirati men and women in various government roles by January 2026. This decision is part of the emirate’s ongoing commitment to create more opportunities for local talent.

Upcoming Interviews for New Positions

Officials have confirmed that interviews for these positions are set to commence next Monday. This structured recruitment process aims to identify and onboard skilled Emiratis who can contribute to the various government functions in Sharjah.

Strong Year for Public-Sector Employment

This latest hiring initiative is built on a successful groundwork established in 2025. Last year, the Government of Sharjah appointed 3,145 Emiratis in both central and decentralized government entities. This included 1,994 men and 1,151 women, representing a substantial investment exceeding AED 950 million. Such figures underscore a robust commitment to bolstering the workforce with local talent.

The hiring initiative is part of a broader series of strategies aimed at supporting citizen employment. Under Sheikh Sultan’s direct supervision, these initiatives seek to empower Emiratis and enhance the stability of local families.
