Qatar’s real estate transactions reach $139.3 million in one week, with $127.2 million in sales

Published:

Qatar’s real estate market recorded significant activity from September 27 to October 1, with total transactions exceeding QAR508 million (approximately $139.3 million). This surge included a notable QAR464.183 million ($127.2 million) in registered sale contracts, according to the Real Estate Registration Department at Qatar’s Ministry of Justice.

During this reporting period, the transactions encompassed a diverse range of properties, including vacant land, residential units, commercial buildings, and administrative structures. Traditional registered sale contracts dominated the trading volume, accounting for about 91% of the total transactions.

Geographical Spread of Transactions

Sales activity was widespread, covering eight municipalities, including Doha, Al Rayyan, and Al Wakra. This broad geographical distribution indicates a healthy interest in both established urban markets and developing areas outside the capital. Notable locations such as Lusail and The Pearl Island were among the key areas where transactions occurred, reflecting their status as prominent residential and mixed-use markets.

Comparative Weekly Performance

The latest total of QAR508.269 million represents a decrease of approximately 12.8% from the previous week, which saw transactions reach QAR583.101 million. The decline was attributed to a drop in both registered property sale contracts and residential-unit transactions, which fell by 10.1% and 33.9%, respectively. Despite this moderation, the current week’s figures are still about 37% higher than those recorded two weeks prior.

Market Dynamics and Trends

September’s trading activity exhibited considerable variation, with weekly totals fluctuating significantly. The Ministry of Justice reported that registered real estate sale contracts totaled QAR1.291 billion in August, with Doha and Al Rayyan leading in transaction value. The latest bulletin highlights the ongoing demand across various property sectors, including residential, commercial, and administrative properties, indicating a robust and diverse real estate market in Qatar.
