Promoting Islamic Values Through Competition
This competition stands out as one of the leading Quranic initiatives spearheaded by the Award. It aims to cultivate noble Islamic values within the community and inspire individuals to both memorize and reflect on the meanings contained within the Holy Quran. Such initiatives align perfectly with the visionary leadership that seeks to position the UAE as a global center for Quranic studies and services.
Encouraging Quran Memorization and Recitation
The primary goal of the Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum Competition is to motivate people of all ages and backgrounds—nationals and residents alike—to improve their skills in Quran memorization, recitation, and the application of Tajweed rules. By providing a structured competitive framework, the event prioritizes quality in terms of memorization accuracy, vocal performance, and overall execution.
Thriving Participation from the Community

This impressive turnout includes 868 males and 798 females, highlighting an almost equal representation with 52% of the participants being male and 48% female.
Among the participants are individuals from 55 different nationalities, with Emiratis making up the largest group—1,028 in total. Other represented countries include Egypt, India, Pakistan, and Syria, showcasing the rich tapestry of cultural diversity that the UAE embraces.
Acknowledging Community Engagement
Ibrahim Jassim Al Mansoori, the Acting Director of the Dubai International Holy Quran Award, shared insights about this year’s competition. He emphasized that the level of participation is unprecedented, underscoring the competition’s esteemed status within the community. Al Mansoori noted the enthusiasm shown by various age groups, signifying a deep commitment to Quranic events—efforts greatly supported by Her Highness Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum, who continues her noble mission to uplift and honor Quran memorizers.
Innovations in Evaluation Processes
This year’s competition has introduced notable advancements in how participants are assessed. The integration of technological tools allows for real-time evaluation of memorization and performance during each contestant’s session. This modernization not only ensures fairness and transparency but also creates an optimal environment for each participant to showcase their skills.
According to Al Mansoori, the broad involvement observed this year reflects the successful strategy of the Award and the Department in promoting a Quranic culture within the community. He further recognized the significant influence of Her Highness Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum’s initiatives in advancing Quranic projects and reinforcing their spiritual significance.
