His tenure was marked by advancements in entrepreneurship, interdisciplinary research, and knowledge transfer.
Additionally, he held the position of President of the European Consortium of Innovative Universities from 2015 to 2021, contributing to the establishment of one of Europe’s first pan-European universities. Van der Chijs has also served as Chairman of Deltalinqs, a leading industry association in the Netherlands, representing Rotterdam’s industrial and logistics cluster. His earlier career included senior leadership roles at OMA, Schiphol Group, and ING, providing him with broad international experience across architecture, aviation, and finance.
