Hyundai Motor Group Strengthens Ties with Saudi Arabia via Expanded Traineeship Program in Collaboration with Misk Foundation

SEOUL — Hyundai Motor Group has announced the expansion of its joint traineeship program in partnership with the Mohammed bin Salman Foundation, known as Misk. This initiative aims to provide ten Saudi students and graduates with an intensive eight-week hands-on experience at the Group’s global headquarters in Seoul, starting July 6, 2026. This program underscores the Group’s commitment to nurturing talent and enhancing its strategic partnership with Saudi Arabia.

The traineeship program garnered significant interest, attracting over 2,500 applicants, which highlights the appeal of Hyundai Motor Group among Saudi youth. The selected participants will engage in various projects across key strategic divisions, gaining valuable insights into the automotive industry and the Group’s innovative practices.

Expansion of the Traineeship Program

The traineeship program has evolved since its successful pilot in 2025, which involved two trainees. Following positive outcomes, the program was expanded for 2026, reflecting Hyundai Motor Group’s commitment to the region. This expansion follows discussions in October 2025 between Euisun Chung, Executive Chair of Hyundai Motor Group, and Dr. Badr Hamoud Al-Badr, CEO of the Misk Foundation.

The rigorous selection process for this year’s program ensured that the ten chosen trainees were evaluated based on their professional capabilities, global communication skills, and potential for growth. This initiative not only aims to develop individual skills but also to strengthen the collaborative ties between Korea and Saudi Arabia.

Trainees’ Experience and Opportunities

Participants in the traineeship will immerse themselves in various aspects of a global Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). The program is designed to provide hands-on experience across several strategic functions, including global strategy, design, and business operations. Trainees will also gain exposure to the Group’s innovative technologies and strategic priorities, which are essential for their professional development.

In addition to their training, participants will contribute to real-world projects and research focused on the Saudi and Middle Eastern markets. This hands-on experience is complemented by networking opportunities that will further enhance their career prospects.

Future Directions for HMG-Misk Partnership

The expanded traineeship program is a key component of the ongoing partnership between Hyundai Motor Group and the Misk Foundation. Looking ahead, the Group plans to continue its engagement with the Misk Global Forum in November, which will include initiatives like the HMG Smart City Workshop, now in its second year.

Hyundai Motor Group aims to deepen its cooperation with the Misk Foundation and expand efforts to promote human exchange between Saudi Arabia and Korea. This collaboration is expected to foster broader partnerships across various industries and sectors, reinforcing the commitment of both organizations to develop future talent.
