UAE Celebrates Graduation of First 50 Entrepreneurs from 3D Printing Programme in Al Ain

Abu Dhabi, UAE: The ADGM Academy (ADGMA) has successfully concluded its inaugural Future Entrepreneurs Programme in 3D Printing, marking a significant milestone in the development of skilled talent in advanced manufacturing. This initiative, in collaboration with Mawaheb Talent Hub, the Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development (KFED), and Sindan, aims to equip UAE job seekers with essential entrepreneurial skills and advanced manufacturing capabilities aligned with the nation’s economic aspirations.

Programme Overview and Significance

The three-week programme culminated in a ‘Demo Day’ on May 22 in Al Ain, where 50 Emirati job seekers showcased their locally designed innovations and prototypes. This event not only highlighted the participants’ achievements but also underscored the growing importance of homegrown innovation in supporting the UAE’s economic diversification efforts. The Demo Day featured a product exhibition, keynote presentations, and certificate ceremonies, bringing together industry leaders, experts, and stakeholders to celebrate the graduates’ accomplishments.

Empowering Future Entrepreneurs

Graduates of the programme presented fully developed prototypes and validated business concepts, demonstrating the initiative’s effectiveness in fostering entrepreneurship and creating future employment opportunities. The programme integrates hands-on experience in 3D printing and digital fabrication with entrepreneurship training, enabling participants to transform innovative ideas into market-ready business concepts.

The initiative places a strong emphasis on empowering youth and job seekers in the Al Ain region, reinforcing the city’s emerging status as a hub for innovation and industrial capability. Participants received comprehensive training in entrepreneurial mindset development, business strategy, pitch building, and advanced manufacturing fundamentals, alongside practical exposure to materials selection and real-world applications of 3D printing technologies.

Institutional Support and Training

The Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development (KFED) played a crucial role in the programme by providing specialized entrepreneurship training workshops. These workshops were hosted at the MZN Hub Al Ain, KFED’s entrepreneurship centre, which supports early-stage Emirati founders by offering a conducive environment for startups, including workspaces, training, mentoring, and networking opportunities.

H.E. Dr. Abdulla Al Shimmari, Executive Director of the National Workforce Enablement Sector and Mawaheb Talent Hub, emphasized the programme’s impact on unlocking human potential. He stated that graduates leave the programme not only with employable skills but also with the confidence to innovate and contribute to Abu Dhabi’s industrial economy.

Commitment to Future-Ready Skills

Ali Al Mehairi, Senior Executive Director of Business Enablement at ADGM Academy, highlighted the programme’s alignment with the UAE’s strategic objectives. He noted that the Future Entrepreneurs Programme reflects ADGM Academy’s commitment to empowering UAE talent with skills that support innovation and sustainable economic growth. The initiative aims to cultivate a new generation of creators and business leaders who can significantly contribute to the UAE’s industrial and knowledge-based economy.

The programme also plays a vital role in strengthening local manufacturing capabilities and supporting the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Graduates leave equipped with practical experience, functional prototypes, and validated business concepts, ready to pursue employment opportunities or launch their ventures in priority sectors.

ADGM Academy’s Role in Economic Development

As a centre of excellence focused on talent development and innovation, ADGM Academy continues to support initiatives that align with the UAE’s vision for a diversified, knowledge-driven economy.
