Genetec Releases Insights on Saudi Arabia’s Physical Security Landscape

Genetec Inc., a leader in enterprise physical security solutions, has unveiled findings from its 2026 State of Physical Security Report, focusing specifically on Saudi Arabia. The report draws insights from over 150 physical security professionals in the Kingdom, highlighting the growing commitment to modern and interconnected security systems, as well as a notable shift towards cloud-based solutions.

Cloud Adoption in Saudi Arabia: Leading the EMEA Region

The report indicates that Saudi Arabia is outpacing the broader EMEA region in cloud adoption for physical security systems. A significant 13% of surveyed professionals reported utilizing cloud-based systems, well above the EMEA average of 7%. This trend reflects a growing inclination towards flexible deployment options that enhance scalability, resilience, and overall management of security frameworks.

Rising Budgets Reflecting Increased Investment in Security

Investment in physical security within Saudi Arabia is on the rise, marking the highest growth in operating expenditures compared to other EMEA markets surveyed. Forty-three percent of respondents indicated an increase in their security budgets for 2025, nearly double the regional average of 24%. Among those reporting a budget increase, a striking 92% asserted that their budgets grew beyond 10%, with 64% experiencing growth rates between 11% and 25%. This data underscores the strategic importance of security investment as part of broader business initiatives.

Modern Infrastructure Mitigating Legacy Challenges

Contrary to trends in many EMEA countries, legacy security infrastructure is not a major concern in Saudi Arabia. Only 12% of professionals cited outdated systems as a significant obstacle, a stark contrast to the 44% average across the EMEA. This statistic reflects the Kingdom’s ongoing investment in advanced infrastructure, smart city projects, and extensive development endeavors.

Insights from the Regional Director

Firas Jadalla, the Regional Director for the Middle East and Africa at Genetec, emphasized the swift transition of Saudi organizations from traditional security setups to more adaptive, connected platforms. He noted that the findings reinforce Saudi Arabia’s status as a rapidly evolving market, where organizations are increasingly making strategic investments. This aligns closely with the goals of Vision 2030, which aims at extensive digital transformations across various sectors.

Survey Methodology

The 2026 State of Physical Security Report is based on input from more than 7,300 physical security professionals globally, encompassing a range of roles, including end users, channel partners, consultants, and manufacturers.
