F5 has unveiled new enterprise AI security capabilities aimed at supporting the Omani government’s National Programme for Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Digital Technologies during two recent events in Muscat. The first event, F5 Academy Oman, focused on providing customers with training on F5’s solutions, while the second, the F5 Technology Showcase in collaboration with Otech, gathered ODP customers and partners to discuss the evolving landscape of cybersecurity and application delivery.
During these events, F5 highlighted the increasing access, autonomy, and speed of AI systems, which pose new risks for security teams and business leaders. The rise of unauthorised tools and unsanctioned integrations has led to the emergence of shadow AI footprints, complicating governance for many security teams.
According to F5’s 2026 State of Application Strategy (SOAS) Report, a significant 88% of organisations reported encountering at least one operational or security challenge related to AI.
Among the key developments showcased was the F5 AI Security Platform, designed to provide continuous visibility, governance, and protection across enterprise AI applications, models, agents, and their connecting APIs. This platform employs a continuous, adaptive loop approach to discover, test, govern, and protect enterprise AI workloads, extending F5’s Application Delivery and Security Platform (ADSP) strategy into the realm of enterprise AI.
The F5 AI Security Platform is set to evolve continuously to meet customer needs. Recent enhancements include the F5 AI Gateway, which enforces policies on every AI request, offering enterprises a unified control plane to manage how AI models, agents, and tools are accessed and utilised, while optimising AI economics at scale.
Additionally, F5 announced the forthcoming availability of F5 Workforce AI Security within the platform. This new agentless offering will provide organisations with visibility and policy control over workforce AI activities, including employee AI usage and actions taken by agents on users’ behalf.
Sami Saber, Regional Sales Manager and Oman Country Manager at F5, stated that the F5 AI Security Platform enables organisations in Oman to maintain continuous control over every model, agent, and API, regardless of where the AI operates. He emphasised that as Oman accelerates its AI adoption through initiatives like the National Programme for Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Digital Technologies, robust security and governance will be crucial for safe and scalable technology integration. Saber expressed confidence that this technology will significantly benefit organisations in their pursuit of the digital and AI objectives outlined in Oman Vision 2040.
