Officials have announced a comprehensive strategy that unifies policing, emergency services, public transport, and event management to ensure a seamless and safe experience during the upcoming New Year celebrations in Dubai. With numerous fireworks displays planned throughout the city, the approach aims to efficiently distribute crowds while prioritizing safety standards.
Major Security and Emergency Deployment
In preparation for the event’s scale, local authorities are launching one of the largest New Year operational plans in Dubai’s history. This extensive initiative includes the deployment of 9,884 personnel from Dubai Police, supported by 1,625 patrol vehicles and 36 bicycles specifically for navigating high-traffic areas.
Securing the marine and coastal regions will involve 53 rescue boats, complemented by 34 rescue platforms and 37 support tents to ensure safety. Furthermore, 1,754 Civil Defence personnel and 165 fire engines will remain on standby across the city to respond to any emergencies.
A critical aspect of this plan involves medical readiness. A total of 635 paramedics and 236 ambulances will be strategically stationed across Dubai, with 12 hospitals and clinics ready to assist. Additionally, 1,900 healthcare professionals, alongside 3,475 Dubai Municipality staff and 13,502 private security personnel, will be present to manage crowd control and enhance public safety. To facilitate movement, the transport capacity will see a significant boost, with 18,000 limousine vehicles available for public use.
Transport and Crowd Flow Measures
Public transport is set to play a pivotal role in managing the flow of crowds. The Dubai Metro will operate continuously for 43 hours, with increased service at key stations—including Emirates Towers, Financial Centre, World Trade Centre, Business Bay, and Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall—to accommodate the influx of attendees.
Authorities are encouraging both residents and visitors to make use of public transport, adhere to official guidance, and stay informed via RTA channels. This proactive approach is intended to minimize congestion and promote an orderly experience leading up to and following the festivities.
Dubai Ambulance on High Alert
The Dubai Ambulance service will have teams deployed across 236 coverage points in Dubai and Hatta. They will utilize a diverse fleet that includes specialized ambulances, rapid-response vehicles, bicycles, golf carts, marine rescue boats, and ambulance buses. Coordination with Dubai Police will ensure that air ambulance services are ready for critical emergencies.
This coverage will specifically target high-density areas, waterfronts, tourist spots, fireworks locations, and desert venues, ensuring prompt medical assistance is readily available throughout the night of celebrations.
Fireworks Across the Emirate
To alleviate crowd pressure at any single venue, Dubai has authorized 48 fireworks displays across 40 different locations. Major shows will occur at iconic sites such as Burj Khalifa, Downtown Dubai, Palm Jumeirah, Dubai Festival City, Dubai Creek Harbour, Bluewaters, Burj Al Arab, Expo City Dubai, Global Village, Atlantis The Palm, and Palm Jebel Ali.
Officials aim to distribute fireworks events widely to balance crowd presence while maintaining safety and ease of movement. Visitors are urged to adhere to safety guidelines, utilize public transport, and cooperate with authorities’ instructions to pave the way for a smooth and enjoyable entry into 2026.
