Dubai Real Estate Firms Provide Free Accommodations for Stranded Passengers

Private developers and hospitality operators in Dubai are stepping up to assist stranded passengers amid ongoing flight cancellations and regional airspace closures that have disrupted travel across the Gulf. This initiative aims to offer immediate relief to those unable to leave the country.

Local Developers Offer Support

Danube Properties and Dugasta Properties have both announced the availability of vacant residential units at no cost for travelers affected by the disruptions. In a message directed at those in need of temporary housing, Danube Properties stated that it is providing support for immediate accommodation, urging stranded individuals to reach out via their Instagram account, @DanubeProperties. Similarly, Dugasta Properties expressed its commitment to offering emergency stay assistance and can also be contacted through Instagram at @dugustaproperties.

Additional Support from the Community

Peace Homes Developments has also joined the effort, providing complimentary temporary stays with a focus on accommodating families that include pregnant women, children, and elderly travelers. This collaborative response extends beyond major developers, with various holiday home operators and short-term rental firms making vacant apartments available, waiving service charges, or offering complimentary nights for affected passengers.

Community sources indicate that several companies are leveraging social media and direct outreach to coordinate aid, helping families secure shelter during a time of limited availability and rising room rates.

Government Directive and Compliance Issues

This private initiative aligns with a government directive mandating that hotels provide free accommodations for stranded passengers affected by the ongoing crisis. Authorities have instructed hotels to extend guests’ stays without penalties when necessary. However, reports suggest that some budget hotel operators have been sluggish in complying with the order, with travelers raising concerns about being asked to vacate rooms or facing additional charges despite the exceptional circumstances.

As thousands of transit passengers, tourists, and expatriates continue to seek clarity on when flights will resume, the accommodation shortage remains critical. Airfares on available routes have surged, and hotel occupancy rates are climbing as passengers scramble for options.
