Dubai Police Crack Down on Unlicensed Hair Transplant Procedures

Arrest of a Suspect Practicing Medicine Illegally

In a significant operation, Dubai Police apprehended an individual for illegally performing hair transplant surgeries without the necessary medical license. This operation took place in a residential apartment, raising serious concerns about the safety and well-being of clients who sought these unregulated services.

Collaboration with Health Authorities

The arrest was executed by the Anti-Economic Crimes Department of the General Department of Criminal Investigation, in collaboration with the Dubai Health Authority (DHA). This partnership underscores the commitment of local authorities to uphold health regulations and protect the public from unlicensed medical practices.

Investigation and Discovery

The investigation into the suspect’s activities revealed that he was actively promoting hair transplant procedures through a dedicated social media account. Videos showcasing these unlicensed services drew attention, prompting authorities to take action.

During the raid, officers discovered that the suspect had transformed a three-bedroom apartment into a makeshift clinic. While two rooms were designated for family living, the third room was improperly equipped for medical procedures, lacking essential health and safety standards.

Unsafe Medical Practices

Inside the makeshift clinic, law enforcement officials found various medical devices and instruments typically used in hair transplant surgeries. Additionally, they uncovered a range of chemicals, including anesthetics and disinfectants, which were not stored or handled according to safety regulations. This situation posed a significant risk not only to the clients but also to the broader community.

Legal Actions and Public Safety

Following the raid, Dubai Police took immediate action to shut down the apartment and confiscate all medical materials found on the premises. Legal proceedings against the suspect are now underway, highlighting the seriousness of practicing medicine without a license in the UAE.

Authorities have issued a strong warning to the public, urging individuals to seek medical and cosmetic services only from licensed clinics and professionals. They emphasized the importance of verifying the qualifications of healthcare providers to avoid falling victim to misleading offers that could jeopardize health and safety.

Reporting Unlicensed Activities

Dubai Police are encouraging residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious or unlicensed medical activities. The public can utilize official communication channels to report such incidents, reinforcing the community’s role in maintaining health standards and safety.

By taking these proactive measures, Dubai Police aim to ensure that all medical practices within the emirate adhere to established regulations, safeguarding the health and security of its residents.
