The man, who claims to have once been a bus driver in London, is accused of operating this horrific ring in one of Dubai’s most upscale neighborhoods. Reports indicate that the sex ring catered to wealthy individuals who hosted parties where young models and social media influencers were lured with promises of lucrative cash payments, extravagant gifts, and stays in luxury hotels. It exposes how some influencers maintain their glamorous lifestyles by participating in extreme and degrading sexual acts arranged through networks like the one supposedly operated by Mwesigwa. The insight comes from investigative reporting that shines a light on the dark intersections of social media fame and exploitation.
In a chilling revelation, Mwesigwa told an undercover reporter that he could provide women for sex parties at a cost of £750 each, boasting that many of these women are willing to fulfill nearly any desire their clients have. The nature of these acts is both disturbing and dehumanizing, revealing the extent of control and exploitation involved.
Many victims apparently believed they were traveling to Dubai for legitimate jobs in sectors like hotels or supermarkets. Instead, upon arrival, they found themselves coerced into performing sexual acts against their will. One client of Mwesigwa’s reportedly demanded acts so extreme as to include defecation on the women, underscoring the depravity of the exploitation.
Tragically, the story includes the deaths of two women, Monic Karungi and Kayla Birungi, who were associated with Mwesigwa’s operation. Both died after falling from high-rise apartments, their deaths ruled as suicides. One of the deceased women had thought she was heading to Dubai from Uganda for a supermarket job. Instead, she ended up living in overcrowded flats with dozens of other women working within Mwesigwa’s network. Mia, a woman who received information from Monic’s sister, described the environment as akin to a “market” with about 50 women crowded into one place, none content with their situation.
Mia also shared that when she expressed the desire to go back home, Mwesigwa reacted violently. She was informed she owed him £2,000 immediately upon arrival, a debt that doubled in just two weeks. These charges included costs for tickets, visas, lodging, and food — effectively trapping the women in a cycle of indebtedness and forced labor.
The financial burden means constant pressure on these women to work relentlessly, often by “pleading” with men to pay for their company. Another woman spoke to reporters about feeling completely trapped within the network, underscoring the lack of freedom and agency many of these women face.
Despite these alarming allegations, Mwesigwa vehemently denies any wrongdoing. He insists that his role is simply to assist women in finding accommodation and that their attendance at parties comes from their own free will, attracted by his network of wealthy contacts.
