New Parking Tariffs in Dubai: What You Need to Know
Retained Free Parking Benefits
The recent adjustments to parking regulations in Dubai have retained several free parking periods. Notably, Sundays and official public holidays continue to be offered at no charge. Additionally, designated free parking times have been introduced near mosques, allowing worshippers easier access during prayer times.
Revised Tariffs in Al Sufouh
In the Al Sufouh 2 area (also known as Zone F), new parking rates have been established. The cost is set at Dh2 for the first 30 minutes, Dh4 for an hour, and Dh32 for stays that extend to a full day. This change aims to address the growing demand for parking in this bustling area.
New Parking Categories: W and WP Zones
Two new parking categories, labeled W and WP, have been launched in various neighborhoods, including Al Qusais 1, Al Karama, Dubai Maritime City, and Al Kifaf. In W zones, drivers will be charged Dh4 per hour throughout the day. Conversely, WP zones feature a flexible tariff structure—Dh4 per hour during off-peak times and Dh6 per hour during peak hours.
Updated Paid Parking in Mirdif
In the Mirdif area, paid parking has been implemented in zones 251C and 251D. This applies from Monday to Saturday, between 8 AM and 10 PM, while parking remains complimentary on Sundays and public holidays. Rates in Mirdif are set at Dh2 per hour during off-peak times and Dh4 per hour during peak periods. A similar rate structure has also been introduced in Al Jaddaf, covering both surface and side parking spaces.
24-Hour Paid Parking at Gate Avenue-Al Khail
An additional change includes the introduction of 24-hour paid parking at Gate Avenue-Al Khail (365N). Here, drivers will pay Dh4 per hour or Dh30 for a full day of parking, enhancing convenience for those accessing this commercial area at any time of day.
Dedicated Mosque Parking Zones
To further accommodate worshippers, new parking zones adjacent to mosques have been designated as MP and M. These areas offer reduced rates outside peak hours and allow for free parking during established prayer times, making it easier for individuals to attend religious services.
Expanded Tariff Coverage Across Various Hubs
The revised parking fees extend beyond just residential and commercial zones. They now encompass educational hubs as well, such as Dubai Outsource City, Dubai Studio City, Dubai International Academic City, Dubai Sports City, Dubai Science Park, Dubai Production City, and Jumeirah Village Triangle. Daily maximum charges in these areas range from Dh20 to Dh36. For regular users, monthly and annual subscription options are available, making parking more accessible for those who frequent these locations.
By implementing these changes, the Dubai Traffic Department aims to improve the parking experience across the city, accommodating both casual visitors and regular commuters. With a variety of zones and flexible pricing structures, residents and visitors alike can better navigate their parking needs while enjoying the vibrant life that Dubai has to offer.
