Dubai International Marine Club Kicks Off New Sports Season

The Dubai International Marine Club (DIMC) is gearing up for an exhilarating 2025–2026 sports season, promising a plethora of local and international competitions, carnivals, and marine festivals. This year’s lineup is designed to engage an audience that spans all demographics, reflecting DIMC’s commitment to promoting both heritage and modern marine sports. With events set against Dubai’s stunning beaches, the Club aims to create memorable experiences for participants and spectators alike.

Ahmed Saeed Bin Meshar, the Chairman of the DIMC Board of Directors, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the leadership of the UAE, particularly to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Their continuous support has been a vital force behind the evolution of marine sports in the UAE. Bin Meshar emphasized that this support lays the groundwork for the club’s ambitious plans and activities in the upcoming season.

As the new season unfolds, DIMC is poised for a strategic enhancement of marine sports, driven by the DIMC Strategic Plan 2025–2027. This plan sets the stage for an exciting trajectory toward innovative practices aimed at reinforcing the UAE’s standing as a premier hub for sports and tourism. Bin Meshar advocates for increasing community involvement in both traditional and modern marine sports, fostering skills development and excellence among all participants.

The Chairman also acknowledged the dedication and hard work of board members and administrative teams, which have been integral to the club’s success. He noted that since its establishment in 1988, DIMC has garnered extensive experience in hosting major marine sporting events. This legacy not only strengthens Dubai and the UAE’s historical connection to the sea but also showcases the nation’s cultural heritage through a mix of traditional competitions and contemporary sports.

### Season Highlights

The upcoming season promises an exciting array of events:
**Opening Event:** Dubai Local 22ft Dhow Sailing Race – September 27, 2025, at Jumeirah Beach.

**October 2025:** Three dhow sailing races, including 43ft and 60ft categories, highlight the month.

**November 2025:** This month will see significant competitions, including the second round of the 60ft Dhow Sailing Race and the 29th Al Maktoum Rowing Cup, alongside various rowing championships and the UAE Sailing and Windsurfing Championships.

**December 2025:** Anticipation builds for major events such as the Dubai round of the XCAT World Powerboat Championship (from Dec 12–14) and the FINA World Swimming Championships finals (Dec 1–7).

**January 2026:** A diverse racing schedule kicks off with 22ft dhow sailing, stand-up paddling, and kayaking, and includes competitions for jet ski enthusiasts and the Dubai Foil Championship.

**February 2026:** The Dubai Fishing Tournament (Feb 4–7) and the second round of Jet Ski races (Feb 13–15) take center stage as excitement continues to build.

**March 2026:** A busy month, featuring the second rounds of both the UAE Sailing Championship and various kayaking and fishing events, alongside the Dubai Foil Championship.

**April 2026:** The season wraps up with the second round of the Dubai Fishing Tournament (Apr 8–11) and the popular Dubai International Boat Show (Apr 8–12, at Dubai Harbour).

**Closing Event:** The 35th Al Gaffal Traditional 60ft Dhow Sailing Race, scheduled between Apr 24 and May 17, 2026, promises to be a fitting conclusion to the season.
