Dubai Culture and Dubai Racing Club Forge Strategic Partnership to Enhance Emirati Heritage

Date:

The Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) has recently entered into a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Dubai Racing Club (DRC). The collaboration aims to enhance cultural initiatives and promote local identity through various innovative programs. This partnership intends to enrich the Dubai World Cup experience by integrating authentic Emirati customs and narratives, thereby fostering a deeper connection between sports and culture.

At the heart of this agreement is a shared ambition to elevate the UAE’s cultural values and traditions on the global stage. Both organizations are aligning their efforts with Dubai’s strategic objectives, emphasizing collaboration among local entities. The MoU was signed by Hala Badri, Director General of Dubai Culture, and Ali Abdulrahman Al Ali, Chief Executive Officer and Board Member of Dubai Racing Club, marking a pivotal step in the two organizations’ commitment to cultural heritage.

Hala Badri highlighted that this MoU reflects the vision set forth by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. She underscored the agreement’s role in promoting Dubai’s cultural values and enhancing coordination among local institutions. According to Badri, this partnership will aid in creating new platforms for talent, allowing artists to showcase their work to international audiences, especially during major events like the Dubai World Cup.

In her remarks, Badri stressed the importance of safeguarding both tangible and intangible heritage for future generations. She expressed confidence that this collaboration with Dubai Racing Club would foster opportunities within the creative industries, enriching the emirate’s cultural landscape while pushing for innovation in how Emirati heritage is presented and celebrated.

Ali Al Ali shared similar sentiments about this collaboration, focusing on the unique combination of culture and sport that this partnership aims to achieve. He noted that working with Dubai Culture is a strategic enhancement to the Dubai World Cup experience. Both organizations aim to provide attendees with a richer understanding of the UAE’s heritage while celebrating the excitement of horse racing at the iconic Meydan Racecourse.

Since its inception in 1996, the Dubai World Cup has transformed into a hallmark event in the world of horse racing, showcasing not just sports but a convergence of cultures and talents. Al Ali remarked that as the event approaches its 30th anniversary in 2026, the MoU solidifies a commitment to preserving the UAE’s unique legacy. This forward-looking partnership aims to amplify the global presence of the UAE, marrying authenticity with innovation in its cultural presentations.
