Groundbreaking Ceremony Marks New Era for Pure Ice Cream in Dubai
Dubai is set to become home to one of the region’s largest ice cream manufacturing facilities, with a groundbreaking ceremony recently held for the Pure Ice Cream plant in Dubai Industrial City. This cutting-edge facility, valued at AED 80 million, is expected to revolutionize the ice cream market in the UAE and beyond.
A Major Development in Dubai Industrial City
The event took place in the presence of high-profile figures, including Mohammed Shael Al Saadi, CEO of the Dubai Corporation for Consumer Protection and Fair Trade, along with key leaders from the industrial and food sectors. Their participation underscores the significance of this project in boosting local industry and enhancing the UAE’s economic landscape.
Impressive Facility Specifications
Once completed in 2026, the Pure Ice Cream facility will span an impressive 160,000 square feet. This large footprint will enable the plant to ramp up production significantly, with an expected annual output capacity of 50 million liters of ice cream. Such an expansion is anticipated to not only elevate the brand’s market presence but also reinforce Dubai’s status as a leading hub for food production in the region.
Commitment to Sustainability
In line with current global trends towards sustainability, Pure Ice Cream’s new facility will utilize biodegradable packaging for its three-gallon product line. This commitment to reducing environmental impact is complemented by the incorporation of solar power into the facility’s operations. Such sustainable practices signify a forward-thinking approach aligned with the UAE’s broader National Food Security Strategy for 2051 and other initiatives aimed at promoting environmentally friendly manufacturing.
Economic and Employment Prospects
This ambitious project is expected to create approximately 60 new jobs upon completion, providing local employment opportunities and contributing to the economic growth of the region. Saud Abu Alshawareb, Executive Vice President of Industrial at TECOM Group PJSC, emphasized that the project aligns with the Dubai Economic Agenda ‘D33’ and the broader mission of making Dubai a global business hub for ‘Made in UAE’ products.
Strong International Trade Goals
Gaurav Ghai, Chairman of Graviss Group, expressed excitement about the venture, stating that the facility aims to be the largest ice cream plant in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). The strategic location of Dubai allows the company to export products to more than 20 countries, thereby expanding its international market reach and reinforcing Dubai’s role as a key player in the global food industry.
Partnership and Collaboration
The establishment of this facility stems from a musataha agreement signed between Pure Ice Cream and Dubai Industrial City during the SIAL Paris international food and beverage exhibition in October 2024. This partnership exemplifies how collaboration between public and private sectors can achieve monumental developments in local industry.
With its focus on sustainability, local economic growth, and international trade, the Pure Ice Cream facility is set to become a landmark project that embodies Dubai’s commitment to innovation and excellence in food production.
